This still looks and acts like a young wine. The fruit is still intact and pleasurable. Huge acids and smooth tannins, asks for a tomato sauce. Like an old fashioned Piemontese wine without manipulation, but with a more modern cleanliness. On the simple side, but very tasty.

Question is does this 2010 Chionetti still have any life left after what seems too long to wait to open this dolcetto? After opening, yes, probably better two years ago. That being said I'm enjoying a glass right now. The fruit has either stewed a bit here or vanished into the ether. There's very little grip left on the palate but overall this is still a pleasure to sniff and taste. The nose is savory showing off some tapenade, very ripe cherries, and green pepper. The palate is wrecked. Most of the structure, the tannin and acid, are fading. Still enjoyable but not great. Past it's prime but you can still enjoy a well-kept bottle into late winter of this year. Another good bottle from The Garagiste. Cheers, Boys & Girls.

A wine with great tension and lightness while still quite intense as well as focused. Fresh with cherries, hints of dolcetto bitterness and licorice. Maybe not the most complex but very drinkable and enjoyable in every way.

My last bottle of this vintage, it's going out on a high note! Excellent focus, grip, attack and finish. Savory with undertones of nuts, bitter orange and fading blue fruits. A really nice food wine, small wonder the local Milanese keep most of it for themselves.....

13,5 %. Åpnet et par timer før konsum. Lilla farge. Nese dominert av mandel og marsipan. Noe kirsebærstein. Jordlig og bærfruktighet i munnen. Medium- Litt bitterhet i finish. Litt tynn frukt, hult midtparti. Lettere enn sin storebror Briccolero. God matvin.

Stylish and very polished. The so-called sweetness of the grape shines through without the rusticity so often present in Dolcetto. Nice persistence, medium texture, good balance.

In contrast to the BIG Brovia this was medium weight, with a deft slice of acid that made it extremely food friendly, easy to drink, and very enjoyable. Everyone who took a sip immediately came back to refill their glass, regardless of how empty (or not) their glass was...... This bottle never made it past appetizers.
When I think of myself sitting in a favorite restaurant in Milan, I am drinking this on a Wednesday evening after work. Nice. Bitter almonds and dark fruits. Can't wait until Thursday night.....

Delightfully honest, straightforward, hard working, every day guy Dolcetto. This veritable Italian Boy Scout is bitter, fruity, clean. A perfect dinner companion for nearly any of a thousand occasions. Very nice and what the Italians in the know drink throughout neighborhood restaurants across north western Italy! Bella!

Wonderful bitter almonds and dark fruits on the nose and palate with just enough bite to cut and clean without damaging. At first we all thought it was perfect with food but when the food ran out we all thought it was perfect alone! Talk about versatile huh? :-)
Really nicely balanced between bitter and palate cleansing that left your mouth refreshed. After taste was clean berries and a touch of spice and oak (?)
A great simple wine that holds its own with food but is fine going solo. If you have any interest in Dolcetto, I would highly recommend this (particularly at the price!)

Immediately drinkable and consistent the first night. By day three, it had lost some of its luster. Still okay. But would drink in one or two sittings.

No detailed notes, but excellent. Didn't decant. A complex wine, lighter style, light tannin, long finish. Medium/dark red fruit. Excellent QPR. The best Dolcetto I can recall tasting.

Mørk og tett. Aromaer av kirsebær, krydder og harpiks. Nokså ekstrahert og konsentrert i munnen, med mye frukt. Nok syre til å skape balanse. Litt sursøt karakter. Melne, runde tanniner og grei lengde. Lett bitterhet i avslutningen. Tåler en del i matveien. 87p.

Again - delicious and easy to drink, but with enough stuffing and structure to be interesting as well. Enjoyed this. Drinking really well

Floral, spicy, earthy nose with a minerally, black cherry palate. Simple wine, lacking in intensity. Popped with italian takeout, which was fine.

Really tasty - bright fresh, very tasty - lovely red cherry, tart currant on both the nose and palate. Decent long finish. Fantastic food wine.

Had some of the varietal character of dolcetto, but without the intensity and vibrancy I like in dolcetto. Muted.
