  • I can't decide if it is flawed or simply too old, but I think I'll go to the former. The nose, though having some elements of fruit, smells a bit like cork (not really wet cardboard). The palate isn't much better, though there is fine acidity and tannins on the finish. I've had corked bottles that were a lot worse, this one is drinkable, but just barely, which is why I'm hesitating a bit.

  • We had this with eggplant casserole on 6/13/11. It had a ripe fragrant bouquet of black cherry, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, coffee, cocoa, cinnamon, mineral and spice aromas. The palate was ripe, well integrated and tasty with flavors of sour cherry, plum, blackberry, coffee, cocoa, mineral and spice. My wife said it was "OK"

  • Most of the fruit is gone from the nose, which ends up rather closed. Palate is similar to previous notes but with more emphasis on wood and spice and less black fruits. Has it reached its limit ?

  • Pepper dominated nose with earthy under tones the palate is rich ripe dark fruit. Well balanced, lush medium bodied.

This wine begins to develop more tannin character after a couple of days in the bottle.

  • Still a great qpr. Bit of dried figs has started to show on the nose. and I get a bit more cayenne on the palate.

  • Had another bottle of this little pleaser over the weekend!!! Great mouthfeel, silky smooth, pure fruit (Blueberry & Blackberry), Well integrated tannins and good lenght, drink now it will reward you for sure, a superb little Priorat and a GREAT VALUE Point, even the snobs like this wine!!! Hard to ask more from a simple week night wine. Go and buy this by the case before it goes away, presently in Quebec people are buying this wine in droves!!!

  • bright, clean cherry/plummy flavors; opens up a bit with time, but quite ready to drink at the outset. Don't expect a lot of complexity, but the mouthfeel is great, goes well with food, enjoy.

Superbe nez. Trèèèèès bon rapport qualité-prix.

  • Beautiful nose of plums and dark cherries with just a touch of chocolate on the finish. On the palate, the initial attack of plums transitions to slightly dried figs, leather and cedar box. The tannins are nicely subdued and a nice acidity cleans it all off leaving a long dried fruits finish. Very good drink.

  • Light in body with good ruby color. Nose and taste of dried cherry, leather. Texture as light on the tongue as it seemed on the pour. Taste of new oak not well integrated with the other flavors. Pleasant enough, but one can do much better for Spanish reds at this price range (though the Priorat region overall seems to be going up faster in price than in quality).

  • I am told this is a grenache, carignan, cabernet sauvignon, syrah blend. Maybe the wine is just a little bit too warm and it kills some of the potential elegance which I don't see. Very big and broad-shouldered. a little too much oak.
