  • PnP and consumed over ~10hrs. This bottle was clearly shut down. Did not evolve much with air. Very primary with high acids, bright red fruits. Some cocoa and spice in the background with an acid and mineral laced medium finish. This should age well and I plan to give my remaining bottles at least 10 years.

  • Cloudy pale, garnet in glass belying some age
Took some time to open and seemed rather disjointed when it did. Fierce attack of oak and alcohol with a weak med- body taking up the rear. There was a pleasant nose of dark fruit and baking spices but it was simply overpowered. Not what I would expect from a grand cru. Less the shorter finish.

    WSET
Med nose of spice, blackberry, raspberry, vanilla and baking spices and earth. This wine is developing.
Palate dry, med acidity, med tannins, medium alcohol, med body. Med- finish. Med flavor intensity. Drink now or hold for further development assuming it is in an awkward phase.

  • A spicy nose also offers up ripe black cherry fruit. There’s notes of tar and earth as well. It has excellent underlying minerality and whilst very young it offers pleasure now yet is stacked for further development.

  • Somehow this came across disjointed and smoky. Not really sure if this as flawed or not.

  • Nose: Utterly intoxicating and enveloping nose that takes ahold and wants to draw you in. There is a tightness to it, but with air, it unravels into a panopolie of red fruits, wild flowers, earth, dark red cherries, spices, strawberries, and some rose petal tones. There is the expected depth from a vineyard of this level with a real class to it as well.

Taste: Ever so silky and deft on the palate with a gorgeous medium/full feel, medium/high acidity, and some chewy tannins. The structure is extremely youth, as expected, with flowing and classy tones of red fruits, wild flowers, dark red cherries, spices, rose petals, and a touch of earth tones on the back end.

Overall: This is an absolute stunner of a wine. The balance is impeccable and the tones just flow. There is a lot of depth with all sorts of complexity. This will certainly need a lot of time to fully show what it can be, but there is all sorts to like right now as well.
