Tasted at Melograno, in a long line of california cabs that were taking up Garth's wine cellar. This was a middle of the pack CA cab, good but not great.

Decanted 5 minutes in the iFavine and sealed overnight in the fridge. Paired very nicely with steak fajitas last night. More bang than the 4th of July fireworks! Deep Ruby color. Nose is fresh black cherries and fresh black plums, oregano, aged leather, and faint cedar. Bold with chewy tannins. Moderate acidity and fairly high alcohol. Slight sweetness. Very complex, layered palate. Initially black plum and black cherry with a hint of chocolate powder. Then eucalyptus and faint white pepper. Evolving into cedar, crushed red pepper flakes, and pencil lead. Long sweet finish that coats the tongue. WE review states best from 2011-2013. Another site (I can't find the reference now) stated drink by 2019. I believe this will drink well into 2030...good thing I have 2 more bottles on hand!

Super Bowl Sunday 2019, Los Angeles Rams versus New England Patriots. Two filets cooked in the oven. Although at the end of its drinking window, this wine showed nice complexity and just enough tannins remained for the filet and sides. Surprised with the quality of this offering.

This was great! Could even go for another few years. Tar, tobacco, leather, and dark fruits combine to provide a classic well integrated showing for a California Cab.

Really enjoyed this.It was deep and rich flavors with some tannins, but not overpowering. Enjoy with red meat dishes, especially a nice steak or prime rib.

from 50ml tasting bottle. nice herbal and menthol notes on the nose. palate shows some of the same, although more restrained and behind a little bit of sour black fruit. finish ends short and leaves behind a little alcohol.

Nose is stunning: lovely intense black currant. Palate has strong tannins still but a nice smooth mouthfeel. Good but weak fruits. I would age a year or two. Unfortunately, after an hour the palate developed quite a bitter finish. The nose is 92+, palate is ~86. Will average to 88-89 for the wine.

Bottle leaked during shipping. Still good, but definitely not perfect.

- Ruby color - Quite tasty at 10. Currant blackberry and cedar. A hint of eucalyptus. Great value cab at the price. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

Good colour.
Pruny on the nose and palate.
Unusually still tannic, and rich on the finish. There's still hope.

Nice age on it, dusty, very reminiscent of being in Sonoma. Not as concentrated as Napa cabs but good value for price.

Nice bottle. Picked this up as a combo with the 2007. Smooth and full bodied. Mellow with minimal tannins. Great deal for the price.

Good wine. Still has some structure. Veggies dirt and cedar on the palate.
