With time open this gets into that harmonious and character driven tango of rhubarb and chrysanthemum. Sweet fruited palate, with some stems underpinning the palate. Seemed to be favorite at the table tonight. AKA Tango Sur.

American Wine! Fresh and snappy out the gate, man this is good. Ripe rhubarb. Is that even a thing? Day 2, and more fruit comes out, super juicy palate. 13.2% ABV. Extraordinary PN, and the QPR is through the roof it you’re into that sort of thing.

Pronounced right from the cork pull. Rhubarb, a touch of savory notes, and just gorgeously seamless across the palate. And incredibly long. THis is the best bottle I have had yet!

At Jess and Matt's 'Wedding.': Strawberry, rhubarb, cinnamon, super juicy ripe sweet fruit notes. Losing some of the cinnamon and spice notes, making for more of a fruit loaded upfront style. Über-juicy.

Always a joy to open this one. Rhubarb, sweet cherry, secondary aromas; tart and tangy on the palate yet smooth and supple. Young, very young as I am begining to recongize this wine's aging potential.

Private Tasting: Best of the US (Waterford Wine, Milwaukee): Very pale in colour, with light salmon pink rim. Sweet strawberry fruit aromas dominate, but there's some secondary earthy, savoury, smoky bacon character. Light palate, but plenty of juicy red fruit that lingers on thru the finish. This wine is drinking well now, so not sure there's much point in cellaring it. Delightful supper wine, or perhaps one for a lunch party.
A few weeks ago I was deeply gratified to be served a $299 Gevrey-Chambertin Burgundy that completely blew my mind...almost the color of blood, opaque, astounding. Had some Shapes/Shadows not long afterwards and finally understood where Kenny Likitprikong was coming from -- replicate the DNA for a fraction of the cost. Not the same degree of awesomeness, of course, but an amazing value, methinks, at thirty bucks. I'm gonna buy me some and sit on it.

served blind. softness of earth and fruit. this should be a folk machine pinot noir (given that it was served under the context of being a European wine) sweet fruit kiss on the palate. lead pencil, medium- tannin and a nice finish. super juicy fruit on the palate. And the ruse is up, it is 2010 Shapes/Shadows.

Just what I was looking forward too. Easy side of red fruit and some rhubarb too. Palate shows firm and fruit with loving mid palate texture. Again, a little haze to the soft color. 13.2%ABV and really, really charming.

Funny, I figured I would be the first commentator. Shows the classic Kenny hand in Pinot. Crazy brilliant color, cherry, cranberry, rhubarb,; seemless, finishes like water. Young. We shall see. Way under priced at $30.
Ah ha! I am the first commentator. I wonder how much this is suffering from bottle shock. Actually, a spitting replica of Domaine Leroy Savignin Les Bonnes 1er Cru Les Narbatton. But at a 10th the price. A steal as always.
