  • Sineann Block One Cab (02 -12) plus some others (My Home): I spoke with Peter Rosback (winemaker/owner) before the tasting and he thought this would be WOTN. I was surprised as I don't think this was the best vintage IIRC. In any event, it was my #2 and the groups WOTN, although as so often happens, it got no first place votes. Purple in color, slightly flat. The nose has cassis and a bit of milk chocolate. It starts out with some cough syrup notes which go away with air. Soft texture. Cherries with slight chocolate. Complex. With air some menthol shows up on the finish. Probably at peak.

  • A lot better than the last bottle. Very intense coffee and cherry with a long intense finish. 15.8 alc. which means its probably 16.8. Dont taste the alc as much as last time. Very good stuff.

  • 15.8 % alcohol Too much for me, but my girlfriend thought it wasnt too over the top. Cassis, barrel toast, chocolate on the nose. Palate has a very dark cherry cough syrup like flavor with big ripe tannins, but the heat is a bit overwelming. It's nice but its not my style.

  • this was a wonderful bottle of wine. i'm really a big peter rosbeck fan and this wine shows why. after initially opening, it had a hard spicy edge; it was borderline abrasive. after being open for about 1/2 hour, this wine opened up into a creamy delicous cab, with complex aromas of currant, blackberry and cassis. in general, i'm not a cab guy, but i really did like this wine... fruit forward, interesting complex aromas, great mouth feel. very, very enjoyable.
