P McCullough: blackberries and oak on the nose. Intense berries and jam. Hints of tobacco and currant. Fruit up front with nice smooth finish on the back. Beautiful wine

I was worried this would be too young, but it's pretty good after being open for a few hours. On the nose, deep, dark fruit with olives, graphite, a little cigar box, and herbs. On the palate, tannins are present but not harsh. Not as concentrated as a Napa cab, but well-balanced. This over-delivers for a SB cab.

Blackberry jam on the nose, nice mid palate with some cedar and vanilla to go along with the fruit...nice lengthy finish too. Considering this is from Central Valley, I would say this is an excellent effort. Went along great with honey bbq ribs.

PnP, 2nd bottle. Great nose; dark, brooding with hints of vanilla. Tannic structure was nicely integrated with the fruit, not a bomb by any means but closer to a gristly blackberry flavor. Finish was quite good and had a lift at the end I particularly enjoyed. A really good every day wine.
Love this vineyard and everything from it.

Good example of great winemaking from average fruit. CS from central coast is sketchy in the vineyard, whether from soil composition or a too-cool climate. The Foxen team does a great job with the material, however, and produces a balanced wine with attractive aromas and enough oak to add some subtle complexities while not overpowering the understated fruit. Taninc structure is appropriate and the finish is medium, leaving with some cedar and cassis on the palate.

Ok bottle. Interesting twist in Cab Sauv. I got the distinct sense of Malbec mixed with blueberry juice.

A good drinking cab, right balance of fruit, not much oak and chalky. Still a good everyday drinker though.

Not bad, restrained and not over the top.
