Was pleasantly surprised. Found these in the basement and I know I bought them a long time ago. The nose was berries and a hint of chocolate. The palate was dark berries, tobacco, chocolate and a touch of mint which led to a moderately long finish.

Served 9 wines for Easter dinner party. Couldn’t have been happier because each wine paired fantastically from appetizer to dessert while pleasing the entire crowd of wine snobs. I have left my rating for each wine below and how it was paired. I also recommend all wines on this list.
Main: Dry rubbed smoked lamb and oven roasted Greek style lamb with asparagus au gratin & roasted potatoes. 2008 Don Melchor (94pts) 2009 Luca Beso de Dante (92pts) 2009 Norton Privada (92pts) 2013 Bodegas Caro (Barons de Rothschild) Amancaya (92pts) 2009 Emiliana Coyam (91pts)
Dessert: Black bottom pecan pie NV Moutard Père et Fils Champagne Rosé (92pts) NV Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) Champagne Brut (89pts)
This Luca Beso de Dante truly blew me away. I bought it on a flier without expecting much then forgot about it in my cellar. The color was beautiful and dark. The nose expressed dark maybe even stewed fruit with hints of pencil shavings. Very rich flavor with good balance. Part of my is glad I kept it so long, the other part of me is upset I didn’t try it sooner and buy more.

dark red, ruby rim - huge nose of black fruit (plumbs, blackberries) with chocolate/mocha overtones - same big fruit in the mouth with a full body in the mid-mouth and near perfect acid-tannin balance - long 30-40 sec finish - this wine is drinking beautifully now - expect it will evolve further over a few more years, but it's so enjoyable now I'm not sure I want to wait any longer

Very dense, dark, big fruit -- I may have guessed this was a Washington state Syrah if I had tasted it blind. The nose reminds me of Cayuse. The tannins are gripping and a bit drying on the finish, but this is still very approachable and I expect it will get better over the next few years.
I think this is an exceptional value. I drank this next to a 2002 Montelena Estate and I like this more.

Fruit forward with rich, dark and concentrated fruit. This Malbec changes quite a but in the glass over two hours and you are rewarded by waiting as the wine becomes smooth and silky. Excellent value.

Blacks and blues on the nose, with a healthy dose of cedar box. Also some menthol on the nose. This wine is medium bodied and lively on the tongue. The red fruits really dominate, and the oak is obvious but not thick. Midpalate is a bit shallow, which leads to a short finish. I'm fine with this at $27, but I'd be disappointed had I paid $40.

Smooth and elegant. Has the cabernet fruit and the Malbec depth. So well made! Drink now.

Still a bit young. Dense, gripping fruit and Tannins. Last taste better than first. Three years until my next bottle.

Vinturi'ed & decanted for 2 hrs. Flavors of dark fruits (cherry, blackberry). Soft on the tongue and easy to drink. Enjoyable bottle.

Très dense, vraiment intéressant. Nécessite quelques heures de carafe et sera encore meilleur dans quelques années

Excellent, like the Malbec better but what a great wine for the price. Great Mendoza winery...
