Opened over a few hours, mainly shedding some of it's mustiness. Interesting though. Since I'm not sure this was meant for a long haul it was secondary at 8 yrs. Prob 2 more years in it if you want. Co-ops. Can be good but never the best stuff right?

This wine earns a solid C. It seems a generic Gigondas with no distinguishable fruit, mid-palate or finish. It was with the help of a nibble of some dark chocolate (88% cocoa) that pulled the score up for me.

Spicy, brambly red berry nose with aromas of white pepper and salty minerals. Some light brush. Crushed stone. Vibrant acid on the palate with bright, youthful berry fruit. Flavors of bramble, blackberry, raspberry, some plum, lavender and violet with light hints of pepper and minerals. Salty, savory finish. Zesty red berry lingers. Nice wine. Great value and approachable now.

Gigondas on the label is typically a guarantee that I'll really enjoy a wine... until this one. Just nothing here. Green, tight nose, not much flavor on the palate, short finish. Doesn't taste bad, but not interesting at all. Without much tannin or acidity, I don't really see this getting better with age as some have suggested, and there are plenty of other wines from this region in the same price range worth trying instead.

PNP- Very tart, sour, and green. Poured back into the bottle. Day 2- much better with some plum fruit coming through and other S. Rhone flavors, there's potential for a better wine, its just too young right now, not sure how much better it will be but needs a few years.

Very nice, almost excellent. Smells like something you would want to taste. Purple in color. Tastes really good, like the driest black and forest berries you can imagine, yet with all the flavor. A typical Gigondas, earthy, crushed wet stones, pencil shavings, rich black soil, a little coffee. A lot to like though seems it could be a little better. It may be with time. It was considerably better on the second day, very tight and mostly closed on the first.

Decanted for 2 hours. This is more like what I expected from a 2010 CDR. There is some subtle dark fruit coming through but it certainly is not pronounced. Notes of forest floor, dusty, earthy but just not coming together they way I would expect. The mouth feel is softer than i would expect from such a dark wine. Nothing special here but there is a enough promise to give me the sense that the 2010 vintage will deliver.

My first 2010 Gigondas. I decanted this for 3 hours before tasting. There's just a little gamey fruit coming through on the nose. I'm not sure if it's still tight or if that's all it has. The fruit is holding tight on the palate with firm tannins and a long finish suggesting this needs more time.

I second pbangelo, below. It's fine, and gets better with air, but really not a great value at $20.

Decent enough. Nothing special, but an easy sipper. Cinnamon, pepper nose. Quick finish.
