Great minerals on the nose. Bright black cherry flavors with good depth and complexity and enough acid for a clean finish. Can easily age for a few more years.

Top Rank wine of Orin Swift. Very good effort. The problem only is that the same producer has similar qualities if not even qualities at a much lower price (Palermo, Papillon, Prisoner, Machete). Not worth paying the up-lift here.

While not a problem with wine, the cork did break in two. At first taste, the wine was still tight both in aroma and on the palate. Drank over a 3 hour period and with each passing hour the wine just kept getting better. Could still benefit from more years in the cellar. Still the dark rich slightly earthy flavor with some still chewy tannins I have come to love of each passing vintage of this wine.

Expected a bomb from Orin Swift. But this one is elegant, deep and complex with great dark fruit and decent oak. Really a great wine and no hurry to drink.

Approx. 30 min. decant ... Rich, but not overly heavy. Some chocolate-covered cherry fruit up front, but strong tannic backbone to balance. Some lush notes of cocoa and vanilla, balanced by at least some acidity. This is nicely done, and decently made, but wildly overpriced for what it delivers: a very good, but not extraordinary, Napa Cab Sauv.

The nose was outstanding but that was the best part. Dark purple fruit but not yet integrated or balanced. On the nose it was so promising Offering anise, currants, blackberry, & cherry with a touch if leather and cedar. Then the taste. Fruit came fist then just washed away and acidity and a lackluster finish followed. Where was the balance or distinction? It fell off so quickly. Now to be fair this is young and I think it has the potential to become an 89-90 pointer but for the price I would steer clear. The Palermo is way for bang for your buck and if you don't care about that them for the same price buy conn's Anderson valley

Drank while watching the Super Bowl... better than expected given the year. Took a little time to breathe, however when it came down off it's cloud it was a nice strong cab. Great after meal drinker.

Claret in color; hints of plum, this is a light, delicious Cabernet, great mouthfeel, solid finish with no hint of tannin/acidity, while young, it is very enjoyable now and will probably be even better in a couple years

Sweet forest berries and plum in the nose and also on the powerfull palate. To much heat in the finish. Decanted for 5 hours and drunk to a steak. Still sweet forest berries, plum and cassis in the nose and also on the palate. Velvety mouth feeling. Sweet berries in the long finish. Will be perfect in 2 to 3 years.

2 hour decant, still very tight. Lots of heat overpower finish. Starts off balanced with fruit on front of palate but acidity and heat dominate finish. Soft tannins but not sure if age will soften and loosen this up. I would decant longer if time allows.

Blackberry and graphite on the nose with some baking spice and black pepper. More structured than the Palermo, and quite tannic, but not nearly as good as the previous vintage, which I loved.

Most people enjoyed this more than i did. Slightly sweet and quite a bit of heat. Kind of a fruit bomb. Not much evolution during the 2+ hrs in the decanter. Typical style for this winemaker. More approachable young than the previous vintage.

This bottle is very, very smooth. A full-bodied Cab, but high alcohol content (15.5). Do not drink on an empty stomach.

Fantastic wine. Not nearly as "fruit-bomb" as the other Orin Swift wines. Still ripe, but nicely balanced.

Typical Orin Swift with lots of fruit and heat. Certainly drinkable, but I wouldn't buy this again for the usual asking price.
