Italians, 2nd Labels of 1st Growths, 95 Prum, +; 10/5/2014-10/6/2014 (Our favorite Italian Place): I think this missed the peak drinking window. Pale pink/copper in color. The nose is excellent. Some nice earthy funk with macerated cherries. On the palate, this has some bitter cherry flavor but mostly just falls flat. Lacking acidity. Don't get me wrong, this is a very nice rose and I went back to it a few times. It is food friendly, but at this price range, I want more.

Fruit is becoming less fresh/pure and giving way to more secondary PN flavors. It's in a wierd place right now. Not unpleasant, but I'm not sure where it's going. Drink up or gamble on something really interesting in a few years.

Last bottle from this vintage. Normally more of a Summer drink, however I need to restock the cellar - not much to choose from right now. Did not disappoint. Although I am giving it the same score I did from over one and half years ago, the wine has matured a bit (in a god way). The acid has mellowed just a touch. The wine feels more balanced now.

Slightly more than a year after first tasting, this is a rich bold salmon color evidencing the longer than normal skin contact. Still in good form, with more weight than one may be accustomed to in a rose'. Obvious Pinot Noir character in the musk, moss and mushroom scents, followed by strawberry, cherry, and light orange mist. Great in the heat, pairs well with food, enhances cheese, not too much alcohol (13%). Just overall good.

This is no Rose thats for sure 8 day skin contact this drinks like a pinot but it doesnt at the same time, so funky and good, it has the texture of like a Tempier Bandol Rose if that makes any sense, serious rose, with undertones of vegetal,
Conc: Could Age for another year or two, good now its a biggie tho

Similar to first bottle, with intriguing and unexpected flavors, if a bit on the bitter side. On the second night, sipped at a little lower temperature, some sweet fruit showed through. Little discernable aroma at that temperature, but good texture. Based on two bottles, I think it would be more enjoyable with some bottle age.

Difficult to assess. Clearly well-made, and certainly drinkable, but didn't yield much pleasure. Drank as an aperitif. Perhaps this wine would be better accompanied by light food. Update: Drinking same bottle 3 days later--more pronounced aromas and pleasing frais de bois flavors offset by a bracing bit of minerality.

Still trying to assess this one. Very deep color seemed to herald an "important" rose. As an aperitif, seemed austere and clenched, but blossomed on the palate when combined with a bite of cheese (proving the old adage, perhaps?). Possibly a bit young.

What a cool wine. I love Maggie's pinots, they have a smokey distinctive aspect that absolutely comes through in this Rose a hundred percent. One of my best ever Rose experiences, which, at the price point, it should be. Well done.

The wine looks Rosy colored. The legs are Medium. Delicious Cherry flavor - nose is awesome. This is just an amazing wine. Made mistake of having it with smoked fish - couldn't stand up to it - but not the fault of the wine.

Deep salmon color. Stunningly intense nose of ripe fruit and earth. A big wine for a rose to my palate with intense fruit and great acidity. Bone dry and delicious.

Darker and more complex than most rose' perhaps as a result of longer than normal time spent with the skins. 100 percent Pinot Noir. Cherry, raspberry, with a bit of heft. Quite unusual and interesting and projects to be food friendly particularly summer food.

Special treat not on the tasting menu. Solid but not as much depth as the other Rose. Seemed to taste young.

World of Pinot Noir Tasting; 12/5/2020-12/6/2020 (Zoom): Burnt pink color. Slightly cloudy.
Very smoky nose. Orchard fruit. Roses in bloom.
On the palate, lush ripe strawberries, spice. Still has quite grippy tannins. Come across sort of like an orange wine. Interesting and nicely done.

This tastes like weak new world pinot noir instead of a compelling rosé. Tastes good, but overpriced for sure.
