  • What a steal for $10, runner-up for WOTN in a 5 bottle potluck.

  • Young, vibrant, fresh, fruit-loaden, but obviously high on alcohol and a touch too sweet for my taste. Ready for drinking, but will no doubt further improve.

  • Super nice Cote du Rhone. Can easily compete with basic CndP. Pretty young, should have enough time to breathe. Unfortunately not available any more.

  • Color rojo cereza, ribete rojizo-granatoso, capa media-alta y gruesa lágrima lenta y suavemente tintada.

  • My first impression of this wine is that it is well-made. The oak is perfect. It smells sumptuous and strong, because it needs to be strong in this wine. The wine tastes of fruit candy, toasted wood, smoked meat, and sweet spices. It carries on for a very long time, like you're sucking on a fruit candy. The wine is still a little too tannic at this point.

I don't have an affinity for grenache generally or Southern Rhone wines specifically. They are too fruit-forward and candy-sweet for my tastes.

  • Deep ruby color, clear. Nose of cherry liqueur, liquid pepper, slight alcoholic heat, a function of the 2010 vintage. Fresh, medium full palate with pepper, fresh leather, dry cherry, tannin. Powerful.

  • A nice cotes du rhone, but one that didn't offer the quality suggestive of its higher price tag ($33/bottle) when compared to typical CDRs. Having recently had two offerings from Saint Cosme, the 2011 CDR ($13.99/bottle) and the 2011 Les Deux Albions ($23.99/bottle), I would say this falls somewhere between the two in quality and dead last as far as QPR. It showed all the typical pepper-spiced fruit that CDR is known for and was a fine bottle of wine, but if your spending on a CDR...there are better outlets for your cash.
