  • Overripe? Hot. Incredibly generic red wine. No bouquet to speak of. A whisper of iodine? Palate has lots of fruit though. Bit tarry. A rather attractive flick of chocolate and coffee toward the end-palate is the only thing lifting this from the drearily overdone and generic. Alcohol. Hot climate! Not unpleasant. No idea what grape this is: the flavour offers no hints. Reasonably persistent. Dry. Tannins and bitterness really keeps on at the end, but not in a bad way. Palate better than bouquet (which is muted). Not a fan though - this is just far too generic and even clunkily aggressive at the moment.

I make no judgement on ageing this one. Won't be seeking it out to buy again.

Oh - looked it up.... this is apparently Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Could just as well have been Mavrud, Mourvedre or Xinomavro for all the flavour profile showed...
