  • Peach, smoky, citrus notes on the nose, med body and initial taste on the palate was a bit sweet - which led to a nice meyer lemon/lime taste and then finish was a bit earthy/olive. Great complex white wine, great with food and cheese!

  • Used as a quaffing wine before the main meal at 3 pm. The wine has not appreciably changed from my posted notes of 10/14/2013 and 5/3/2013.

  • Quite similar to my tasting on 5/3/2013, as far as aromas and flavors: "aromas of white flowers, apricot, butterscotch, lemon, melon, poached pear and baked apple. After about a half hour, the initial apricot and butterscotch aromas disappeared. The flavors consisted of soft lemon, melon, poached pear and baked apple." A medium finish. The oomph of this wine does not nearly have the intensity as it did when tasted 3/1/2013. I'm putting the rest of these wines in my "drink in the near future" bin. NOTE 24 hours later: my evaluation yesterday was of the wine alone, without food pairing. However, I have to confess that the wine had more oomph with my wife's secret pesto and pasta dish today; also, the finish was longer.

  • 4Ms
A great complex white. Floral notes and lemon with a slightly spicy finish. Was a nice complement to chicken in an orange sauce

  • This time I get aromas of white flowers, apricot, butterscotch, lemon, melon, poached pear and baked apple. After about a half hour, the initial apricot and butterscotch aromas disappeared. The flavors consisted of soft lemon, melon, poached pear and baked apple. Succulent and viscous in the mouth. Seemingly rich fruit. A medium spicy finish. Again, the wine paired well with Thai food. However, the wine did not seem to have as strong a structure as when drunk only two months ago. It was like drinking a wine at the end of its drinking plateau. That is, it became softer and much of its substance seemed to disappear as the night went on. This was again confirmed when I tasted the wine the next morning. My thoughts are that the wine does not have much time left. I'm putting the rest of my bottles in the "drink them up soon" bin.

  • A straw-like color; clear, as if filtered and fined. This Rousssane-Viognier combination is a real treat. Aromas of perfumed white flowers, melon, lime and orange blossoms. Similar flavors , along with some apple and pear. Creamy and succulent in the mouth. Great balance and structure. A long and spicy finish. No heat whatsoever. Pairs quite well with a Thai multi-fish dish, very minimally spiced.

  • A hefty, beefy, but not overweight white wine. Really liked it.

  • Love Tranche wines and the Slice of Pape was no exception. Crisp lemon notes and a nice long smooth finish. Wonderful wine to pair with any food as I thought it could even stand up to heavy dishes with lots of spice. Would be a great wine to pair with Indian food in my opinion!

  • I really enjoyed this, floral and lemon zest just blossomed as the wine warmed up and breathed a bit. This has a nice creamy feel to it. I can understand why this has high rating from WE.
