  • Very similar to my last note. Not as good as the 2008, albeit very well made and also very good. The wine is definitely at its peak and should be enjoyed within the next few years. Once again very Italian in style.

  • Notably dry with grippy tannins. Modestly fruity with balanced acidity and a lengthy dry finish.

  • Showing some really nice development. These are nice to drink at this age. Earthy cherry fruit nose and nice dry cherry flavours and a not so tannic finish, the acid finishes things up nicely.

  • Less evolved than the 2008, but also lacking its depth. The wine is straightforward, balanced and quite expressive with blueberry/blackberry aromas. Even though the wine appears young, I wouldn't wait too many years before drinking my bottles...I'm not convinced it will improve much more. As always a really good QPR.

  • Dark ruby with medium plus to high optical density. Very intense nose with excellent complexity, showing chocolate, tobacco, juicy dark red berries, and aromatic tar. High acidity and full body with integrated but firm tannins. Dense and concentrated texture that is palate coating and mouth watering in an elegant way. Flavours of dark fruits mixed with tobacco and earth, a full midpalate with aromatic tar, leather, and spicy flowers. The finish is lengthy and satisfying. At once juicy and tannic, with fruit, spice, and earthy tobacco and toffee, this is a serious and delicious wine. Really well made and drinking very well, this is balanced, complex, interesting, drinkable, and thought provoking wine. Amazing!

  • Rich ruby colour with high optical density. Very intense nose, with nice complexity; blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and some chocolate and coffee comes out with a bit of aromatic tar and leather. Begins to evolve on the nose and palate, giving increased complexity over time. Hits the palate with refreshing acidity, very full body, and dense mouthfeel, showing flavours of ripe berries, tar, and earth on the attack, with a full midpalate that brings on bright tobbaco and leather before transitioning to a lengthy leathery finish. The tannins are medium plus in intensity, cleaning up the mouthfeel nicely, but perhaps leaving a touch of bitterness on the finish (works well for me). This is nice now, but seems to have some legs on it. A very nice Tuscan-inspired blend that does not disappoint. A pretty serious wine!

  • Darkish red. Fairly dark fruit nose and nice dark flavours. Dry finish. After a bit it becomes a bit fresher. Probably a bit reduced at first.
