Un nez pas tres expressif, la robe est encore assez sombre. En bouche le vin est agréable, les tanins sont fondus, la structure est encore solide mais au niveau des parfums il manque quelque chose pour que ce soit tres bon... on reste un peu sur sa... soif. 14/20

I have never been disappointed with a Haut Marbuzet, even in an average vintage like this one. It's elegant, provides a pleasant feeling in mouth.Tannins are well melted.

0.375 L bottle mid Mar 2022: deep red purple color; not decanted; started very closed in nose and mouth; after approx. 2 h the wine opened up presenting a classic nose of cassis, blueberries, vanilla and noble wood; full and dense on the palate accompanied by strong tannins.

Vin plutôt décevant: un boisé un peu trop marqué, une bouche légèrement acide, l'ensemble est assez court. Ce serait convenable pour un bordeaux à 7 ou 8 euros, pas pour un vin vendu 4 fois plus cher... Il semblerait que ce millésime 2011 -convenable en général - ne soit pas une réussite pour ce cru.

Chewy tannin, chocolaty and rather closed, this simple bottle of Saint-Estephe was opened quite before its time. Aggressive astringency. Wait at least 10 years, and it might play a different tune. Or not.

Belle maturité après un bon coup de carafe.. Fruits noirs et prunes croquantes. D'une très bonne longueur avec tanins moins serrés que prévu.. excellent! Bu au domaine à la pipette en 2012, rappelant de beaux souvenirs... On peut laisser couché pendant qq années encore

Read about Lillet, 375ml bottles, and this wine today. Did all 3 tonight and it was awesome! We need more 375ml bottles! The wine was classic French, with an earthy, rustic nose. Palate gets drenched with soil, tobacco, dark cherry, and mushrooms. The finish was insanely long to cap it all off! When things are meant to be they are meant to be!!!

Limpide, brillant, grenat profond avec reflets violacés. Ocelle aqueuse. Lourd, larmes moyennes, lentes et peu fréquentes. Nez mentholé, avec une légère note de boisé, un coté terreux et légèrement carboné. Notes de groseilles rouges et de bourgeons de cassis. Nez fin et discret. Attaque vive sur la groseille rouge, le cassis, complété par le menthol, le tabac et une pointe de sous-bois. Belle finale sur des tanins assez fermes, se terminant sur des saveurs de groseilles rouges et de brûlé. Vin jeune encore notablement tannique avec un fruit légèrement en retrait. Belle acidité résiduelle et bel équilibre général. Doit être meilleur après aération. A re-déguster en 2018-20.

Consumed from a magnum over a 3 day period. Picked up significant weight and depth with each day. The bitter red berries and harsh oak of day 1 transformed to round black berry, soft earthy tannins, and creamy oak by the final pour. Nice wine for the price especially given the terroir and high priced neighborhood (Cos d'Estournel, Montrose, Lafite...).

Blending 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, the wine reached 13.4% alcohol. Aged in 100% new oak for 12 months before being moved to one year-old barrels to finish the aging. Only a small percentage of the vines were damaged by the September hail storms. They were forced to pick some of their Cabernet Sauvignon vines a little earlier than they would have liked for fear of rot. Ruby in color with oak, clay, earth and wood in the nose. Round, sweet dark berries in the mouth, but there is a woody dry sensation in the finish. This is the 50th vintage for the owner. 85-88 Pts
