Can't help thinking this is only now coming into its own
Made with high alcohol (14.5%abv), hardly a traditional Bordeaux, but still an attractive merlot cab f blend with enough fruit and acidity to balance 14 months in new oak
Proof that even the international style can't totally mess up some good Bx fruit

Aged 5 years (8 total), decanted; moderate sediment. intense notes of cedar (almost came across as leather) hints of dark fruits. Zero finish which was disappointing. Paired amazingly well with fromager d’affinois goat Brie.

Already giving up its sweet black raspberry, cherry and earthy character, the wine is soft, medium bodied and fresh, and will best in its expressive youth.

Decanted for one hour after opening. Powerful nose of cherry, chocolate and some truffle. Concentrated dark fruits on the palate and a medium-plus finish of cedar and some tobacco smoke. I would agree with some that the alcohol was a bit high for my liking, but overall I find this to be an excellent wine for the price.

Tasting too much of the cab franc for my taste. A bit too tannic, prefer the Clos Magne Figeac at this pricepoint. Hoping this will open up on day 2, or perhaps it needs another year in the bottle. Zachy's had said it was good to go today, but I disagree.

When tasting on day two, considerably better. Day one, even with decanting, yielded a wine that was alcohol dominant with a disappointingly one-note profile. Day 2, got the full nose and strength behind it on the palate. Save this one for a few days after opening, or cellar for some time. May have been flawed.

This tastes like a Rhone wine in the first hour. Total plum/damson overload. I guess it's the heavy cab franc ratio, interacting with the merlot, but this screams Gigondas, initially.

Was wonderful with a not so wonderful steak. Wonderful nose with the right amount of tannin.

One bottle shredded its court, but after Vinturi and decanting the wine was an excellent compliment to the Christmas turkey.

Quite young, but stil enjoyable with medium firm tannins and pleasant finish. Should improve nicely with age.
