Nearly opaque with ruby highlights. Sweet oak and blackberry pie nose. Full bodied, crushed blueberries, black cherries, earthy tannins, smoke, tobacco, good acid, and a long dark fruit-laced finish. Really good; probably peaking but no sign of decline.

Fruit forward, easy drinking. Lighter oak than most of Ty's single varietal bottlings. Smooth with medium, velvety tannins. Some sediment starting to form.

Pretty demonstrative of Ty's wines. This is why they are an auto-buy when they appear on Woot. Solid, integrated. Really fruit forward. My one concern - I don't know that it really tastes that much different than another Ty blend. I'd still buy again.

We drank this through a vinturi, but still thought it was young and tight, despite it's already being 4 years off the vine. This one could definitely use an overnight decant. The color is a dark a purple as wine can get. The nose has deep, rich, still shy and reticent blackberry and plum with some vanilla and the aroma of tartaric acid. Big blackberry and black cherry fruit. Seems to have only moderate oak. The tannin structure is very civilized for a wine this big. The finish, for even a half hour later is big, raw, young acid that interferes with the current enjoyment of this wine.

A bit acidic and light on tannins. Very fruit forward with lots of plum and dark berries. The acidity softens and some dark chocolate secondary flavors come through. A straight forward and easy drinking and fairly light bodied but very fruit forward.

Excellent wine for the price. Unique blend. Very fruity on the nose and palette. Really enjoyed the 9 bottles I've drank over the past year+. Only one bottle remaining, I almost hate to drink it. :-)

Always love Ty's red; a bit different from year to year, but never disappoints and sometimes goes on sale for < $18 a bottle which a bargain for my go to daily drinker.

Lovely purplish color like eye candy. Decanted for an hour before enjoying a glass while grilling chicken on the BBQ. Fruit forward and smooth. I absolutely loved it!!

Pretty boring and unmemorable. Mild to no tannin, low acid, generic fruit. Tastes like a $13 table wine. The problem is it is a table wine, but at $18, it's far from a QPR buy.

Ran through the Vinturi. Needed it for sure. Ty's wines are typically pretty tight on release. This was all bright fruit, a bit of wood and cherry pie on the back. Had a glass and capped it. 87 initial score. Day 2 I didn't have any. Day 3 I finished the bottle because it was so tasty! Wood integrated, fruit not so bright and in your face. Very smooth lush and downright tasty.

This should be the poster child for the "Fruit Forward" style. It wows you with a great fruit flavor upon first taste. Not a jammy fruit, but a rich indulgent fruit. Yet it finishes like a nice dry red wine should. I fear that aging this wine might reduce some of that great fruit flavor.

Interesting blend here: 61% cab, 19% merlot, 18% syrah and 2% pet sirah. Nose is pretty subtle but I get black cherry and other dark fruit. Taste of the same dark fruit but also vanilla and cola with a hint of a chocolatey finish. Soft mouthfeel, with surprisingly light tannins for a 2010. Drinking nicely now and it was great with grilled filet.

Needs some time to breath, improved considerably after decanting and allowing it to sit for an hour. Still not nearly as tasty as the 2009 to me, but this was a very different blend.

a bit fruitier than expected - full-bodied - a bit acidic on first pour - will see how it does with an hour of air - good but not great so far - UPDATE second night - not as fruit forward, has really improved with exposure to some air - nicely balanced, good daily drinker at this QPR

Deep purple color, excellent legs, wonderful nose, and very smooth with a mixture of fruit and earthiness. Still going strong, and I loved it.

Popped and let open for a couple hours. Smelled strawberry notes and tasted similar flavors. Really light, jammy and airy.

A little faded, or maybe an awkward phase. Not a whole lot of fruit, but not much in the way of tertiary flavours either. Good but not great.

Very nice red wine. On the lighter side but good balance of fruit and tannins. Plums and dark berries with some earthy notes in there.

My last of 9 bottles, this is drinking very well, still very fruit forward with a nice tart cherry flavor on the mid pallet. Loved it!

Very good red Cal wine to pop open at any time. Standard price was maybe a bit high (36) but at the pre-Christmas discount was a no-brainer.
