Still delicious !! May be at or just past peak !!. Perfect cork easily removed with the Durand after over a decade in the bottle without drama. Consumed with friends at dinner. A beautiful burgundy color with minor oxidation and good clarity. Aromas of black cherry, raspberries, and pomegranate. Expressive flavors of red berries, currant, and spice that includes a long to medium finish of marine soil and forest floor. The fruit was sourced from 20-acre 14-year-old estate vineyard on a gentle east-facing slope nestled near redwood groves near the town of Occidental. Organically and biodynamically farmed Dijon 667 and 777 clones planted in Goldridge sandy loam soil that was named after Don and Jennifer Hartford’s son, MacLean. This very balanced Pinot Noir was made by winemaker Jeff Mangahas who left in late 2011 to go to Williams Selyem. The vineyard manager is Walt Chavoor. The wine has aged beautifully and may have years of life remaining if properly cellared. I still have one bottle of this vintage remaining in my cellar and will open soon to validate this tasting note.

This was a disappointment. Not like other PNs from Hartford. This was hot and jammy. Very alcoholic. Not balanced. Agree that it tastes more like a zinfandel. Confusing.
This is certainly a different kind of pinot but found it very enjoyable. Reminded me more of an Italian red than a Californian. It had elements of dust, cigar box and spice, maybe cardamom, that went great with a Tuscan pork loin. Needs refinement but I hope Hartford continues to explore this.

Nice wine a little underwhelming but well made. On the nose some berries and on the palate some cherries, mocha, cola and spice but just doesn't seem to come together. Not cheap

W roast chicken. Pretty good and age was showing. This was round, fruit, spice well integrated. In drink up stage. Wont get better and may be fading

Nice wine with good fruit but almost tastes like a zinfandel- no cherry and big tannin.
