Deep gold. Nicely dry at this point with impressive richness and inensity, with notes of Lemonhead candy, honey, grilled meyer lemon and chamomile. An immortal pleasure.

Pale gold, nose of green apple, peach pit, slightly citric. Medium-bodied with a lot of verve--no flabbiness despite plenty of layered fruit on the palate, great bakance. Stone fruit and again hints of citrus on the long finish. Delishious bottle drinkign at what seemed to be its peak.

90+ 1, 2, whatever. Excellent bottle. Great balance. In contrast to jonradus, it did taste like an aged Riesling to me -- no petrol (which is fine with me -- not my fav), but there is a certain richness and depth that Riesling acquires over time, and this wine certainly had that. Moreover, my bottle held up well through the bottle, and it was consumed along with some other quite decent wines.

Pretty cool to drink an aged riesling. Tons of great fruit and acidity with this wine. Peaches, lemons, sweet apples, etc. i got no petrol or aged riesling notes. Could have fooled me for being 3 years old if the cork wasn't so musty. Very, very good.

Light golden yellow color. Apples, pears, petrol, honey, citrus zest, minerality, and a bit of peach on the nose. Light body with very nice acidity and nice richness. Sweet and crisp on the palate with the mouthwatering citrus leaning more towards lime. Lingering finish that leaves you wanting another mouthful. Still seems very young and vibrant.

Bright gold color, very aromatic, petrol, green apple and stone fruits on the palate. Full and vibrant, not particularly complex, a little flat and short on the finish. But satisfying overall and an very nice aperitif.

Drunk in Mammoth, after a day hike to 20 lakes basin in the Hoover Wilderness....great wine for this night. Refreshing and wetting with sweet pineapple and sappy yellow fruit on the nose. Nice acidity with sweet, but not cloying white fruits, straw and some yeasty bread. Touch bitter in the finish with some spritz. Good+

wonderfully aromatic, with peaches and candied citrus with just a touch of aged petrol. In the mouth, full and balanced, with a nice clean acidity and long finish.

The nose was full of petrol and candied apricots. Rich and gold in color. Maybe a little over the top, and possibly should have been drank earlier, but a good lesson in aged Riesling.

More soil-y than my prior bottle, with a little less lift as well, perhaps because more of the acids fell out of solution (lots of rocklike precipitates at the bottom of the bottle). Still, a very solid example.

Agree with the general concensus, a nice, well made, aged Spatlese, but not exceptional. A tiny bit of deisel on the nose, pretty green apple flavors leave a slightly tart feel, would prefer a little more acidic cut, but still very nice.

Expressive, deep and classic apple/mineral/petrol profile, with a grilled note adding interest. Mouthfilling; the old-fashioned weight of 11% alc is felt. Some bitter woody edges to the just decently persistent flavors.

Ditto. Extremely nice, but not exceptional. A well-stored, balanced Riesling with a good balance of acidity, sweetness, fruit and exotic petrol/aged-riesling character. Should last well for another 5-10 years if needed, but probably won't really "improve", just hold....

wow. a grand wine that fills the air with the aromas of summer and fruit salad with some old diesel thrown in for good measure. I wish I had more. this could age for 10 more years at least.

Christianne's Dinner (San Francisco): Very nice. Copious citrus fruits, but the steely acids and chablis-like minerals keep the fruit in check. A hint of petrol and seashells. Kept getting better with air.

Needs lots of air. No sign of age at all. Pineapple, melon, apricot, grapefruit, a whole range of tangy fruit flavors plays across the palatte. A bit of petrol on the nose comes out with lot's of air time and swirling, something I like.

Aromatic, dried apricot, honey, earth, flint, and hazelnut nose. Full flavoured and medium-sweet palate with balanced acidity and a long leathery, nutty finish. 4.5/5

Blind White Throwdown (Our House (2033 Brandywine St., Philadelphia)): Darker yellow. Honey, brown sugar. Lacks some acidity. Nice secondary Riesling notes. Nice sweetness, but the finish fizzled out at the end.
