Bright lime and honey on the nose, rich and nutty on the palate, and excellent length and balance on the finish. Will move the remaining bottle to the "ready to drink" shelf but won't be in any rush. This wine is in a beautiful place. Did start to slowly fade after a couple of hours - had popped and poured after letting the bottle warm up for an hour after pulling from fridge.

My last bottle of this. Aromas of stone fruit, petrol and minerals with some oxidative notes. Creamy and round on the palate with an overall very soft mouthfeel. In the end, I think that this has shown to be what you should expect from a good 12 year old bottle of Riesling.

A better bottle than the last, but still not as good as the first one tasted last June. Aromas of honey, peach, apple, some minerality and a little bit of petrol. Round on the palate with some creaminess, it seemed just a little bit tired, although it still drank very well.

This bottle was much more advanced than the last bottle that I had. Darker in color (dark gold), it exhibited some slight caramel/oxidative notes. It was still drinking very well, showing aromas of peach, apricot, minerals and a little bit of petrol. On the palate it it had a smooth round and creamy texture and no discernable RS showing more red apple and herbal notes. Probably best to start drinking the rest of these up.

Nice clove/allspice element on the nose. Big pineapple, mineral, unctuous and almost oily. In contrast to the previous note, I thought this was almost completely dry in a deceptive sort of way as the richness makes you think of at least spatlese-type sweetness. Outstanding.

Hard to sort out the flaw from the aged Riesling characteristics, but in the end, this proved to be corked, most apparent on the finish. This did not stop us from enjoying the peach and minerality that were present for the first half of the bottle.

This actually drank better on the second day than it did on the first, which leads me to believe this is gonna be able to last quite some time. On the first day, it was a little dominated by the acid and on the second day, it rounded out and mellowed into a gorgeous wine. Aromas of lemon, orange rind, apple, mint and even a very faint red berry note all carried through on a wonderful bed of minerality. Very soft in texture with a creaminess to the feel. Not the longest finish compared to some other wines that we had been drinking, but still a decently long finish. Looking forward to trying some more bottles of this.

18 wines on a Saturday afternoon: Golden in color. The nose has honey and a slight petrol note. Not completely dry which curprised me. Complex with a pineapple and mineral note. More pineapple on the finish. I really thought this wine was in a very good place. Not showing its age IMO.

Full yellow. Moves from lower toned scents to fairly intense, high toned lime skin and orange peel aromas. Full bodied, just perceptible residual sugar, good acidity. The fruit carries through on the palate and is accompanied by a dash of bitters. Not the most complex, chiseled, or mineral Austrian Riesling, but oh, does it have terrific dry extract, cling, and palate presence which linger for a minute after it leaves your mouth. Excellent.

Medium gold color. The nose is all mineral, apricot, diesel and honey. The palate is vibrant, juicy, intense and long. This is certainly dry but there's a density and body to the mouthfeel that's just everything I look for in riesling. This is just now developing into its own and should progress further.

This is doing better than the Gruner. It's got better concentration and depth, though, even here, I don't expect it to improve. Nice stony minerality and fleshy pit fruits ... this is more what I was hoping for when I stashed them away.

Tree fruits, petroleum, mushrooms on the palate. Started off great but went tight after an hour in the glass.

Medium yellow. All petrol and apple. Perhaps a little dilution and diffuseness on the palate, but really good mineral finish and good acidity.
