Very pale lemon colour. Lightly citrus, fine rushed herbs, clean, refined. Medium weight, lightly oily texture, honey and citrus flavours with dried herbs in nice balance. Rich but clean flavours, light enough to be refreshing. Delicious.

Smells like white peach and dried toffee, very atypical. It's off-dry with a medium body and medium finish and some white pepper or alcohol spice. It's good but nothing special.

A private lunch (Restaurant Ratatouille *, Haarlem, NL): Classic white Provençe profile, lovely grassy and floral notes, hint of candyfloss, soft acidity but fresh, vinous, hint of lemon, mineral energy, relatively light flavours, good length. Solid, but not as exciting as two years ago. Drink young!

Amphitheatre Restaurant at the ROH (Don Carlo). Classic crispy but ripe white fruit aromas and flavours from I presume a white Grenache base but with a pleasing minerality and refreshing acidity to balance the wine. Vibrant and racy and accompanied my guinea fowl and my fellow opera buff's sole with equal aplomb. Perhaps not Jonas Kaufmann quality but a good understudy of a wine - excellent and reasonably priced restaurant fare. For drinking over the next year.

Blind tasting, writing without influence of other CT notes. Second southern white of my region with high quality. Nose discret. Mouth of white fruits nuts, a bit of anise, whatery and refreshing, ending on a subtle pomelo bitterness (usualy to strong). balance overall is good. Still a simple white, but one of the best of Provence can make. Drink now. Conclusion: my previous tasting describe a wine to young.

La Reunion des Chefs Dinner (Koffmann's at the Berkeley, London, UK): Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris, Maccabeu, hint of Rolle. Fabulous nose, wonderfully floral, Riesling-like, very fragrant, herbs, lovely minerality, good depth; fresh, dry, harmonious, juicy, elegant, seamless, playful, charming, grapefruity bitters; good length. Quintessential Bandol, top quality.

Blind tasted after a supposed more simple white Bandol : totally closed nose; unexpressiv. Mouth fresh on white flowers, and white pepper, but finishing on bitterness, making the wine unbalanced and rustic. Disappointing for this prime quality Domaine. Could it be to young ?

Drinking very well, round, spicy, notes of honey, creamy, generous style, yet with plenty of acidity. Will go on.

North Berkeley Wines New Release Tasting (Presidio Golf Course, San Francisco): This is a wine that has more textural allure than flavor interest. Really nice, glossy feel but rather neutral flavors.
