It is almost painful to part with this luscious and charming Pinot. It has that hint of salinity from the Pacific winds, the brightness and complexity of mountain fruit.

Cherry, plum, fig, spice, black tea, leather and oak. Tannins are firm.
Truth be told, I wanted to like this wine more than I actually did. Fruit seems somewhat muted and perhaps fading at this stage. I wish I had opened it in 2016.
At this point, for $80, you can do better.

Burgundy color with a bouquet and flavor cherries and raspberries followed by typical Pinot Noir spiciness. The flavors were fairly restrained and the wine was quite tannic on first tasting, with some improvement after airing. I find most Flowers Pinot Noirs to be in a bit of a wine straight jacket, but this may appeal to others.

Opened up over the course of 2 days. Rouge claire as a burgundy. Nose of cherries, bergamot and tarragon with a hint of apples and camphor. Cherry cola, grilled meat, garden herbs, baking spices. Finish goes on for a minute or more. Drinking beautifully.

Bright red. Elegant nose of wood, tobacco and plums with a hint of rose. Creamy mouthfeel shows currants, spice, wet leaves, brioche and some leather. This was a nice wine more reminiscent of what Flowers has been known for.

Popped and poured. Amazing nose of some of the most intense baking spices and holiday fruitcake I have ever smelled along with some cherry and caramel/vanilla near the end. So very different from any other Flowers pinot I have had. This smelled much richer and like it saw more new oak than some of their other wines. The aromas continued to the palate with sweet, lush red fruit and spices with some silky sweet tannins and medium+ acid. Nice finish. This wine could have benefited from a decanting because it really continued to open up and shine towards the end.

This is a show-stopper, but I wish I'd have given this a few more years. I think it will get better.
