Past its prime. Fruit and structure has faded significantly, but still interesting to taste a wine of this age. Price was right (free), since I won it in a contest.

Opened 2 hours prior to tasting. Deep, rich aromas of dark fruits and earth; same notes for taste with some spice. Soft and very smooth, but relatively short finish.

Definitely is past prime...smooth but hard to discern fruit...soft is word for both smell and taste. Did not open up with time. Nice to drink but sadly it was lost in the back of my cellar til I got organized with cellartracker recently.

Deep almost opaque crimson. Full rich nose of pinot funk, earth and some spice. Same notes repeating on the midpalate. Moderate finish. No question this is a broad shouldered pinot that can stand up to steak and lamb. This is drinking well, but I'm afraid it is starting its downward slide. Drink now over the next 6-12 months max.

14.5%, dark lightly transparent garnet. Earth, spice with dense blackberry and dried plum on the nose. A fruit driven palate of dried cranberries balanced with mild tannins. Moderate finish of spice.

Opened not decanted. Given as a gift by some neighbors. Initial nose was of concord grapes, kind of sickly sweet and hot. It' improved but still pretty simple. Will revisit.
Light, simple, quaffable.

Drank at Ray's Boathouse. A light red colour with fading at the edges and a nice fruity nose with hints of strawberries and sweet cherries. Medium-bodied and fairly full-flavoured, this is a more fully-extracted Pinot. Slightly seet but not too fruity or jammy, and not at all hot - a very nicely balanced, elegant wine with spice, cherry and currant flavours. It feels velvety and smooth in your mouth and has just enough tannins to balance. Great on its own or with food.

A bit big for my taste, but, if you like that sort of thing, it's a reasonably nice bottle.

Had with Chicken-basil-pesto pasta. Good QPR. Dark red/black fruit on nose and palate. Balanced and smooth. Second night was less good.

Hot summer yields lots of fruit. Smooth, earthy pinot. Better on the first night.
