This opened very fresh with a pale green gold colour with a nose of oatmeal, white peach and lemonade fruit with touches of white flowers and mineral characters. The palate is classic white burgundy with lovely weight and grip leading to a persistent sense of fruit and savoury characters. Ultimately this has both robust fruit characters and a gripping minerality that reflect the classic features of Meursault rather than fashionable wine-making tricks.

This is a fairly big wine. It needed time and air to open up. Should drink well for another decade. After a couple hours of air this opened up beautifully. White peach, acacia flowers, with a slight honeyed finish. Lovely.

Bright yellow. Crisp lemon with a hint of vanilla oak. Very young in texture and presence. Still plenty of underlying acidity to support further development. An excellent example of how good white Burgundy can be with a bit of age.

The last note captures this pretty well. Still extremely young, 0 premox, and reductive upon opening. This needed about two hours to open p and come into its own, but when it did, it aded weight and complexity. Nutty, lemon, green banana (per earlier note), lots of minerality, and excellent balance. Really well done and while not grand-cru level, it's not that far off. Glad I have 4 more. Should last another 5-7, easily.

Aroma: Mild citrus fruit with honey, buttery attached on the nose. Remain young for 2010, the honey and buttery aroma came stronger after decanting it. Bouquet: Toasted almond, hazelnut with a hint of minerality. Taste: Medium-to-full body, structured yet balanced acidity. Medium length of the after-taste. One of the best Meursault I have ever tried.
Serve: 12C (but suggest to drink it a bit warmer - 14-15C)

2010. Strict lemony acid, fresh stony bite with the tiniest hint of honey and green banana. Lovely wine which comforts me in my affection for Mikulski's higher end whites, and I'll age my last bottle a couple more years to see if it adds a honeyed heft of the midpalate... but no regrets today.

Ripe fruits coupled with a touch of wood spice and a little hit of smoky sulphur. Good intensity of orchard fruit flavours with a light butteriness. There’s a hint of almond meal to the flavour profile and decent cut to the finish.

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Metropolitan Pavilion - New York NY): Tasting. This was similar to when tasted a few months back, but more balanced, less hot, better textured and more elegant. Still fat, ripe and forward, this is charming and sexy. I slightly preferred this over the Genevrieres today.

La Paulée de New York 2013 (Metropolitan Pavilion, NYC): Beautiful nose -- a subtle acid that's nevertheless slightly tangible on the nose behind a sheath of saline and chalky minerals. Palate brings the promised acid, beautiful leesy mineral odor in glass residuals. Lovely.

Fine Vines - New Burgundy Releases (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting. Rich and ripe fruit aromas, showcasing peach and ripe apple with hazelnut, licorice and marzipan. Similar on palate, somewhat fat and slightly hot on finish, so give this another couple of years in cellar to soften.

So tasty! Nice and zingy upon pulling the cork, then over the next 20 min or so, it took on heft and breadth. In a perfect place right now.

Anise nose, again. This is showing very well. Good flesh and concentration with a mineral streak through the finish
