This is quite rich. There's plenty of acid to balance intense flavour. It needs to be served quite cold because of the richness. If I were to be critical I'd say that there is some unevenness on the palate but on balance it's very enjoyable, and impressive. Oak is well integrated. It can do with some air: I would even contemplate decanting a few hours before dining. But it has to be cold!

The nose is more reserved than the 2010 Latour-Giraud Meursault Cuvee Maxime, iodine notes and medium weight, touch austere with lots of material - in fact, it is Perrieres-sized wine and nicely impressive.

Not a perfect bottle… the dreaded middle-ground. From magnum.

From magnum, and in good form, with the sizable fruit being well framed by the wine's natural acidity. Lovely.

While not exactly oxidized, clearly not right.
