I am loving this 3 1/2 years after my first bottle. It is Gouges in character but approachable in its relative youth. Clean clear lines. Good sour cherries with some reductive funk. really excellent Bourgogne!

Liight violet red. Initially some reductive notes that blew off. Dark fruits on the nose. On the palate juicy, classy, nicely acidic wine with plums and red currants. Nothing that I did not like but I will not be racing back to drop another $26/bottle for more. That having been said, I am happy to have another 3 lying in wait.

Light red, violet edge. Generous almost heavy aroma, dark fruit, plum, some wood. Significant acidity, no tannin, smooth, juicy, cherry, black currant. Long finish, slowly declining power of taste. Still noticeable after 10 seconds. Probably very Suitable to pair with food, combination with cheese or meat evokes a nice experience.

Initially wondered if the bottle was flawed as the overriding nose was one of sulphur which did not blow off despite time in both the open bottle and in a glass. With plenty of vigorous movement in the mouth, we eventually got red fruits with a medium tannic bite. However, the perception of sulphur continued for minutes on end.
Am unsure if the bottle was faulty as the sulphur was very off putting or this was the case due to over rigorous use of sulphur during the production and bottling of the wine.

Awful, just awful. Green, raw, unripe - a disaster. 2004 all over again.
