Excellent Zweigelt and good vintage for the Bienenfresser. Dark fruit, silky tannins and excellent balance of fruit, acidity and body. Not a hint of unbalanced oak. I preferred the 2009, but this is also excellent. Drinking well now. - 89 points

A generous Zweigelt with lots of dark berry fruit, gentle oak, fine tannins, refreshing acidity and some chocolate notes. Pitnauer to me remains one of the best Zweigelt producers (I say that as a Blaufränkisch fan). A wine that doesn't need food to shine. Good now but will drink well for at least another 3 years. - 89 points
