From magnum 1 hour decant. Mid weight with cassis and plum up front. Lead pencil and black tea on the back end. Pleasant but needs more stuffing, and given the Diamond Mountain pedigree I would have expected a bit more.

Decanted for several hours. Deep, purple-violet color. Aromas of dried violets, graphite, cassis, tobacco- growing more reserved, secondary and complex with air. Shows plum & blueberry fruit on the palate, with layered notes of black tea, anise, cedar & clove, among others. Creamy and silky in texture, tightening while gaining mass and complexity with air. Fine polished tannins. Juicy-lingering finish. Very nice.

Clear, deep, purple-violet color. Clean aromas, medium+ intensity, with lots of primary blackcurrant and berry fruit along with secondary black tea, espresso and spice. Dry on the palate, with medium acid and full fine-grained tannin. Layered and polished palate with bright ripe black fruit, tea and spice. Full and fleshy, well balanced, grippy and full on the finish. Straight forward profile- really drinking well.

A nicely blended dichotomy of warm initial sip and lovely bouquet opening up to spice notes and clean finish.
