PnP, with primary aromas of blackberry and cigar box, and a whiff of mint chocolate in the background. Bramble up front on the palate, with modest notes of tart cherry, milk chocolate and tobacco, and acidity that perks up on the finish to keep it honest.

A delicious bottle of wine that is in its prime drinking window currently. Very smoothed out tannins with very big, almost jammy, fruit. Some very mild black pepper tones hiding in the finish mixed in with the delicious fruit. FF zin is one of those bottles that everytime I drink it, I wonder why I dont do it more often. They seem to be consistently delicious from year to year and I can typically find it for 30ish per btl. Shout out to P&K for introducing us to the LPR!

Blind tasted. Nose of black cherry, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, rose petal. Palette showed moderate plus tannins, moderate plus alcohol. Most guessed Malbec, but I correctly said Zin.
35% new French oak.

meat and blackberries on the nose. Low tannins, low acid, smooth, blackberries, spice, and coffee on the palette, slight hint of spice on the finish. A smooth zin, nice drinking but a tad high on the ETOH.

Interesting creamy texture on this wine. Lots of vanilla. It's not too objectionable to an avowed oak hater, but this wine tastes a little manipulated.

Big jammy fruit, spice and vanilla on the nose. Lots of vanilla and oak followed by pepper and very subtle blackberry jaminess. Slightly over oaked, with a dry finish with more oak and toast.

One can taste the potential in this wine and reason for its historical scores, but the alcohol takes center stage right now in my opinion. Try later with 1-2 more years.

Overly sweet in my opinion. Didn't really show its zin nature. Felt a little let down.

very consistent, good wine... age is helping smooth it out and nose is opening up ... has many years left in the tank to improve

great QPR, with nice nose and palate... finish a little lacking... hopefully will improve with a little more age

Very smooth and easy to drink. Heavily oaked, especially for a Zinfandel. But really good wine for the money - wish we had more of it.
