Nothing wrong with this wine but nothing special either... The fruit is drying up and tannins and acidity remain. I very much appreciate the older style California Cab but expected it to have aged a little better. Base neck fill and cork came out in one piece in good condition. Some nice cedary and earthy notes but lacks a little in complexity. Not the top-flight aged Cab Sauv I expected... Drink up!

Clean cork. Needs a decant due to sediment, but approachable immediately after opening. Garnet color in the glass, with fading rim. Mature aromas of raspberry, red cherry, leather and graphite. The palate bring juicy red currant, more cherry, forest floor and herbal notes. Acidity is still medium-high, and tannins are fully integrated and very light. Held up well in the decanter over a 2+ hour dinner. Drinking well in a mature style, but I don't see this getting any better. Drink now or over the next few years.

Pop and pour. From a pristine bottle. Opaque, very dark maroon color. The nose was a bit closed at first but didn't take too much swirling to get the black cherry fruit, cedar, forest floor. Palate is smooth, medium to full bodied, with the tannins fully integrated. Reminds me of dark chocolate covered cherries. Beautiful wine.

ChrisD's 40th: Kirsch, redcurrant, licorice and forest floor character - I really like the red fruit and overall restrained ripeness evident here. The palate is in a nice place, with tannins still supporting but resolving out, good acidity and still some fruit presence, makes this an interesting and appealing mature wine.

Drank over around 4-5 hours at home, decanted at the beginning. Good, mature and in balance, but a little thin and light. Not sure what I paid for this on release (maybe $50 in mid-90s), but didn't strike me as a top-tier wine by today's standards.

What a beautiful wine, just now coming into balance, with a wonderful nose of earth, red fruits, some anise, cedar and well-integrated spices. It is the complexity on the palate that sets it apart from other aged Napa wines, such depth and layers of fruit. Showing youthful exuberance and tannins that are only now beginning to soften. All around classic Cabernet with plenty of life ahead.

A perfectly aged Napa cab that has life left to give. This took a solid couple of hours to really open and strutt it's stuff. Beautiful mature cherry with a nice cedar and earthly feel to it as well. Loved it.

still tons of life left...tannins have disappeared faster than the fruit (or wasn't as backward as many DC) so it is a bit on the jammy side for my taste. Amazing that a 20 year old CA Cab still is so dark and lively.

Clear red color with a slight brown tinge at the edge. Musty initial aroma changing to an herbal component, changing to sour then sweet cherry. Flavors of cream soda evolving to a subtl cherry cola. Very harmonious and enjoyable to drink. My favorite of the three designates for 1992.

Took some time to open up but then layers of berries and cherries. Finished with a bit of cedar and leather. Great with a steak.

Takes a bit to open up then plus and stewed cherries linger in the mouth. Bit of a tart finish with some chocolate and cedar flavors.

Still an amazing amount of fruit. Plums and currants with a bit of cedar and mushroom underneath.

BLACKBERRIES, BLACK CURRANTS, AND A TOUCH OF LEATHER IN THE NOSE. FLAVOR LIKE THE NOSE WITH BLACKBERRIES AND CURRANTS. MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.
