Vanilla seemed to overpower the fruit. Interesting as well, the fruit and vanilla were disjointed and not in harmony. Could also just be in a funky state right now. Very different from my first bottle. Will wait another year before trying another.

Did not live up to my VA expectations. Although this bottles was decanted, maybe it needed more time? Plenty of fruit and the darkest color, but the smoothness wasn't apparent. Rough is a word that I'd like to use. I've got another one, maybe it need additional time?

Opens big on the palate, jammy with a plum and berry accent, very soft tannins, easy finish. True to the grape variety. Ate with lamb burgers seasoned with mint, oregano and feta. Perfect accompaniment. Drink now, not much room to mature further.

Gravel and dill on the nose. Black plum then cherry carries throughout, with cedar and grass on the finish. Almost grainy mouthfeel with heavy tannins. Decent now but needs time to develop body.

Still not improving based on other VA Petite Sirah. Best was first 15 min from PnP but then goes flat. Difficult vintage.

Blueberry flavors. Dark color. A little austere; it doesn't quite have the depth of fruit as some other VA petites, probably due to the vintage.

Color, fruit, all of good mentionables, but left plenty of room for improvement as far as this drinker is concerned.

Dark, inky. Good dark berry fruit. A little earth. Nice finish.
