Burgundies and Barolos (89 & 10 DRC, Clos Vougeot, Lambrays, and more) at Fig Tree (Charlotte, NC): 6pm slo-ox, consumed at 6:45pm; Perfect provenance and it shows. Elegant aromas of dusty red fruits. Soft and fully resolved on the palate. Still a hint of primary flavors (red fruits and plums) but this had a fabulous secondary profile – loose herbal tea, sauvage, and notes of browning leaves. Delicate and delicious finish. A wine to be savored and not rushed. An exceptional showing, Drink now.

Like the DRC Rich89 next to it this showed its age in the nose with earthy notes, wet forest floor. Good complexity with lovely Vosne spice on the finish. Mature, drink up.

Grands Echezeaux 1989 - it started very tight and it took around 1 hour to express red fruits, sous bois, tea, a very elegant palate but definitely I was expecting way more from this bottle.

DRC Holiday Party; 12/17/2015-12/18/2015 (Mintwood): Rich, smooth, and fully mature. Earth, tea, spice, leather, dust...in a good place right now, but not sure how long its going to stay there before starting to fall off.

Dark red color with bricking. Took an hour to open up, tea, lots of spices, undergrowth, floral, quite secondary. Lovely medium plus palate with long finish, great balance, not a blockbuster but drinking v well.

Sous bois, earth, soy, tea, and dark fruit on the nose. Palate is better than the nose but it is a bit too savoury for a DRC.

From Jero - bit of Vosne spice, quite fresh and vivid, not very deep or profound but nice wine

from large format - good wine but the follow-through is just a bit dry. seeming to lack a bit of fruit intensity. but well made and good experience.

Kevin's MNSC (Amuse Bouche): aromatic sweet forest fruits. faded ever so slightly in the glass after a while.
