Smokey undertones in dried fruit like taste. Not too jammy, but full of flavor even seven years later. The wine looks ruby colored. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. It smells like cranberry, blackberry, black currant (cassis), prune and raisin. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity. Lots of sediment There is heavy sediment in the bottle.
Day two: Wow! Opened up wonderfully. Full of fruit and spice. The sediment settled and it was very good.

Popped and poured, restaurant bottle. Very fruit forward with mostly black fruits on the nose. Medium bodied without too much glycerin and an impenetrable wall of tannins on the drying finish. Did not mellow out over the hour and a half of the meal, overwhelming both the fried chicken and the smoked pork chop.

Thick and rich and chewy, all for so young a Zin. Taste profile is long and varied throughout its trajectory, starting with cassis and berries, a little mocha, ending with subtle tiny tannins. Better after breathing, of course.

Dark fruit with pepper. Great for a glass unaccompanied by food, pairs with bold dishes (spicy fare or red meat). Will be even better in a year (2014).

red plum and black raspberry; sweet, smooth and hedonistic; gulped down with fancy cheeses and bread; a bit jammy with just enough acidity; a true guilty pleasure.

Nicely balanced, full mouth feel, with the right amount of pepper. Reasonable to good value for money, will buy again.

Very nice structured zin. Not jammy or sappy. Very much like ridge. Original rosenthal selection. Makes sense.

Not a zinfandel drinker so I won't rate, but surprised me with some wonderful baking spice notes. Enjoyable.

big mixed dark fruit; more high toned and sweet, with less acid than i recall; easy drinking with the Zachary's deep dish.
