Drinking well. Probably near its peak, but not ready to fall off a cliff either. Darker fruit notes than typically found in a PN. Great mouth feel, very long finish. Solid wine.

Big, rich but beautifully balanced Pinot. Bursting with cherry, chocolate and all-spice with a long, long finish. Make no mistake, this may be a Pinot but it’s no delicate wall flower. This wine will stand up to beef, pasta and similar foods that typically call for a bigger wine. Drinking beautifully now but likely to hold well for several more years.

A great pinot, notes of cherry and hint of spice with really great finish. Overall, a very well balanced pinot with great structure and depth. Paired nicely with grilled salmon with cucumber dill sauce.

Dark color. Notes of fruit and berries, and a hint of cherry. No trouble smelling without any time in a decanter. Soft tannins, long finish. Many years of storage left in this bottle.

Slow ox for 45 min. Lovely nose of blackberries, boysenberry and forest floor. The wine is medium bodied, fleshy and reasonably nicely balanced. Flavors of blackberry, black currant, tea and herbs come through into a satisfying finish. This is more restrained than many Peter Michael pinots and i suspect is close to peak now.
Three days later in the fridge this remains a very good wine retaining its core black cherry fruit flavors and showing a little underbrush. Overall I hold the rating but it’s clear this wine may continue to develop.

We opened and poured through a vintorio. Red fruit on the nose. The palate was raspberry, black cherry, coca cola and a touch of spice. The finish was moderate to long and full. One of those rare occasions where the first glass was the best.

2011 was a relatively cool vintage - but you wouldn't know it! Big ripe fruity, raspberry jammy, but with good acidity. 14.5% ABC this is a big rich wine - most un-Pinot like - but with all the perfume and aromatics that go with Pinot - wonderful it you want a full-on almost overripe Pinot. One of those wines where you drink a glass and think it is amazing - drink a whole bottle and it's too much.

4th Saturday group uptown tasting (R&D's): Double blind. Aromas of cherry and raspberry- lots of red berry fruit here- along with underlying hints of pepper and baking spices. A bit more substantial and full-bodied than the bouquet suggests, with flavors of cherry, pepper and dark fruit. Lengthy finish. This is a pinot, but it's big, so I guessed this was a Peter Michael pinot noir. 91-92 pts.

Pale almost translucent color. Red fruit, cherry and smoke on the nose. A fruity, sappy, juicy smooth wine with relatively low acidity and very low tannin. Elegant and very light. 92p

Dark black berry, chocolate and asphalt aromas. Dense chewy black cherry, bitter sweet cocoa, new leather. Baking spices, creamy, sweet finish. Extracted yet balanced and elegant in a Cali Pinot way. Lots of good sexy structured components. Has 5-10 yr life, but wonder if any nuances develop.
