No notes taken. Perfect PWSF provenance and condition. Clean cork 1/8" color. Decanted 1 hr. Slight micro sediment.
Light bricking rim. Nice body. Excellent generous fruit. Very well integrated and always a TOP FAVE of mine (especially this vineyard). Not hot at all. LONG finish around 50 seconds.
91 pts.
A little less impressive than my last one. Enjoy now ideally or within a couple of years.
One of my Dessert Island Zins.

We've been talking recently about the potential for zin to age. So I opened my oldest zin here in PC.
Great clean, deep purple color. Nice Zin nose of blackberry, cedar, earth and leather. After an hour in the glass, it opened up and the blackberry, plum, licorice, white pepper and forest floor. Nice long finish.
I cannot say this improved with age as I didn't drink any in recent memory. But, I can say that this is still young, peppery (in a zin sort of way) and very refreshing with our pasta and spicy meatball dinner. This wine is still exactly what an excellent zin should be at 8 years-old ... or three.

Seems to be at it's prime now. I love the Monte Rosso fruit and Biale does a great job crafting this wine into a beautiful wine. Kudos Al Perry for making such a great bottle of wine. Sure hope that Gallo keeps selling you the Monte Rosso fruit.

I am so enjoying this zin. The nice (but simple) nose and breadth of cedar and forest floor are not big plusses. The medium bodied yet rich black cherry and brambly blackberry fruit, licorice, chocolate and spicy earthy goodness are.

With my bottle of Black Chicken just a memory, I decided to drown my sorrows with this. Certainly not as bold as the Chicken, this one has nice balance and great fruit flavor. I'd tell you specifically which flavors I tasted but I can't remember cause I drank too much of it. All I can really say is that I liked it. Biale is a consistent producer of quality Zin's. I'm a fan!

Nearly black color with a nose of cocoa and blackberry leads to a palate dominated by dark chocolate, pepper, and blackberry and plum. Tannins are smooth. Very good!

Holiday's with Pam's family; 12/20/2005-12/25/2005 (East Lansing, Michigan): Pepper, spice, and earth dominate this very good zin. This was fantastic with chili. Worth picking up a bottle if you ever see it on the shelf.
