  • Mike Kopanski was right on target with his assessment of the 2012 Picton Bay. The more PNoir one drinks, the more one will appreciate this version. To my palate it is one of the best PNoir buys at present and tastes to me just as it did to Mike. Price point is an amazing $7.99/bottle. Smart buyers of everyday quaffing wines will be well-advised to lay down a case or two of this wine. It is every bit as good as other NZealand PN's costing twice as much. But don't just take our word for it; try it yourself and see!

  • I guess I liked this Pinot more than others who have commented. We taste every Pinot we can, and are disappointed as often as not. What gives this one the thumbs up is the rich core of pure black cherry fruit. There is a pretty serious underlying backbone and structure also. The palate is kind of rustic with some evergreen flavors surrounding the black cherry fruit. Young raw acidity. Gritty little tannins. Does a nice job of coating the roof of the mouth for a medium bodied wine. Spicy finish with minerals and black cherry
