Only decanted at the restaurant and even slow drinking, it still needed more. Also unfair drinking right after 2008 To Kalon, which was much smoother. The fruit is powerful, but cherry notes are pleasing. I have rated other years higher, but that may be unfairly sensitive to a generally bad year.

Intense dark cherry, vanilla, cedar, and oak on the nose. Took about an hour to 90 minutes to open up and release these aromas. They are well integrated. In the mouth I can still taste cherry but it is hidden behind a layer of sweet floral candy - a very light musk stick lolly taste. After that the saltiness and an almost iiodine hint kick in which is a saviour of an otherwise to sweet wine. Tanins are good ro excellent and well integrated and also help to balance the musk. I suspect it's a great wine from a bad vintage. Would love to try it in a good year.

Rich aromas of dark fruit. Blackberries, black cherries. Slight hint of honey. Tannin is mellow, with right amount of acidity. Very balanced. Long finish.

This latest stop in my tour of 2011 Napa Cabs reinforces that there's definitely gems to be found out there, and this certainly is one of those. A bit of funk on the nose early on, but was muted after a couple of hours letting blue fruit notes come through. Don't hesitate to give this one a try if you have any.

Killing babies. Drank this over three days. Deep, rich nose of creosote, fresh plums, black berries and flowers. The palate is medium to full with bright blackberries, a bit of chalk and some more plums. Softish tannins and a medium lenght finish. Needs a lot of time but delicious wine.

This is the second bottle that I poured out 1/2 the bottle because of bad aroma and nasty aftertaste
