Likely just a bit past peak, however still good structure and fruit. Tannins have nearly disappeared. It does fade over through the night. Drink if you still have it, still a very nice wine.

This was the fourth time I've had this wine and the first in three years or so. Still a good wine, but I waited too long to drink that last bottle. Still has the upfront fruit followed by some good herb flavors. Time to focus on the later vintages.

Saturday Tasting Group (Knightsbridge Wine Shop (Northbrook, IL)): Really liked this wine. When tasted blind I thought this was a culty California Cab. Super aromatic. Pungent, funky ripe and very up front. nice wine. Lower acidity and pretty qualities. Super heady and voluptuous. Delicious styling with some pepper. Tasty.

May be past its prime but does open up nicely and shows more fruit. Deep color. Not much nose - more alcohol than fruit. I think we kept this too long.

Nice fruit and very smooth with tannins very muted. Well integrated and low acid. Muted nose at first but with about 45-60 minutes it opened up nicely. Tasted with NY Strip off the grill - very well paired. Seems to be at the peak or maybe a little past as the finish was a little short but pleasant.

This has really come alive in the last 12 months. The first few bottles seemed very simple and light bodied. Yesterday's bottle was a real gem, with attack of dark fruit, minimal tannins and a long graceful finish. Only have 1 left, so will probable hold on to it for a Elevage vertical tasting in a few years.

Wow! This is a great wine! There is a lot going on in this wine, highly layered flavors of red cherry, currant, plum, tobacco and cedar topped with a very long finish. Superb!

We had this with grilled Ribeye steaks on 12/26/08. It had a wonderful bouquet of red cherry, strawberry, cassis, vanilla, cocoa powder, and cinnamon aromas. The palate was very smooth with cherry, vanilla, cocoa, and cinnamon flavors. The tannins were extremely mild. It was very well balanced and delicious. My wife liked it a lot.

Lovely wine. Lighter than the Jarvis but showing equal complexity, length and depth. Raspberries, light coffee and mocha aromas are accompanied by some cigar box and California Cab essences. Palate is medium to full bodied with moderate tannins, great acidity and well integrated alcohol. Really enjoy this wine. Comparable to the Stag's leap Cabernet.

Color has started to fade, good black fruit profile with a nice structure to it, moderate finish. A very nice example of a fully mature Napa red.

From magnum, decanted 1 hour. Mature but not old, smooth tannins, complex flavors. Really enjoyed. Drink now as this has likely peaked.

Opened at Brad's for Brill's going away party.
Plump and ripe. Still plenty of life. Spicy brighter red berries, slight candied elements. Nice.

Unfortunately I think this bottle was past its prime. Not much fruit and sour finish. Left in decanter for 2 days and then enjoyed it.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Tasted double blind. Very fat and ripe, a little extreme for my preferences. Very simple, simple, showing some heat. Enough firmness that it avoids seeming flabby.

Had with a ribeye tonight. Terrific. Nice with a light dried fruit flavor. Rasin. Mild tannins. Long finish with maybe a little bitterness.
