Not a good vintage for Burgundy but its my birth vintage. Wilted flowers, iron, dried roses and earth on the nose. Palate has the impeccable La Tache structure. Clearly over the peak but still very enjoyable for old burg addicts. In fact, the wine becomes more complex and serious with time without any signs of fading. Good to share it with dad on this special day! 90-91

20200808 One bottle meeting at Bellini. Very obvious over its peak, and giving the charm of the best old Burgundy. Very resistant to oxidation at that night, for hours. Completely different from La Tache in youth but as great.

A private DRC tasting (Waver, Ouder-Amstel, NL): Recently acquired, storage conditions unknown but probably mediocre at best. Bottle No. 004365 / 11.186, Wilson & Daniels slip label. Level approximately 4 cm below the cork. Not unpleasant but maderised, vegetal, retains its structure and freshness but not its charm.

Initially, classic la tache. Vosne romanee fund, Asian spice box, forest floor. Lovely aromatics and great fruit. It faded over 2 hours and became disappointing. Drink up and quickly

Wine Dinner to Start the School Year - 90 Dom, 87 DRC, 78 Margaux, 04 Kapscandy ...: Close to a perfect glass of pinot noir in my mind. Definitely was a hair better than the DRC 87 G.E. that we had right before it. If the first was a fly weight boxer, this was a prima ballerina. An elixir of raspberry, some plum, truffles, loam and an exquisite minerality formed a slow moving experience that I wished had lasted the whole night, I had to restrain each sip because I ddn't want it to end. ONce again, the generosity of a friend made this once again an aha moment to always be remembered. Not surprising, the wine of the night.

So fragrant so floral. Raspberries sharp and incredible amounts of fruits. Lovely acids and tannins which are very nicely integrated. With bits of tobacco and fruits. It's singing at this point in time.

This is absolutely the best wine of the night. Truly a Lin experience rather than a wine. The nose was extraordinary and floral. You could smell it from the edge of the table. The taste is bang on in terms of the mix of acids and tannins. This comes with cherries licorice and a bit of tobacco and tea leaves. So so beautiful. Amazing.

The color is a cloudy reddish brown color with an tone amber tone on the very edge. Since it was not decanted there was bit of sediment to the wine. A very expressive nose of dirt, mushrooms, leather, dried cherries, and sweaty saddle. The attack is a burst of acidity that gave way to earthy tones, minerality, and baked fruit as it transitions to the mid palate. The finish is long and has an almost subtle burnt wood like flavor along with the forest floor secondary flavors. Overall a wine that is a thrill to drink even though I think the storage conditions of this particular bottle were less than ideal. A very generous gesture from a good friend. NS.

My first bottle of LaTache I've had from beginning to end (vs. at a tasting). Spice on nose, just faint signs of red fruit. Some fading floral notes. Earth flavors just as prominent as fruit on palate. Lots of tannin and acidity today. Finish is more spice and mushroom than fruit, but even more acid.

006337,pronounced aroma of Sous bois, rainforest, mushroom, plum. Medium flavor intensity.
Good acidity, high and rough tanning, so the structure is still here. Medium concentration with king finish.
But pass the peak very quick in the glass.
