Loved this vintage of McDougall previously, and it remains this time around a lively, very fruit-centered pinot. This was our last bottle, but certainly many years ahead for this 2011 (and put forward 2023).

Better than the last bottle we drank from our cellar. Probably is evolving a bit with aging. All things considered, it's still pretty young. I agree that a few minutes just in the glass helped (this after pouring through a Vinturi). Had the final third of the bottle two days later, and it was much more opened, fruity, and interesting in its smell and flavor profile. Wait on next bottle for at least 12-18 months.

Not quite seeing in this wine what others are seeing. Don't get me wrong: it's solid. It's a bit lighter on the color. The only way any smell came through was with a Vinturi. That gave floral, but not much else. Taste was much more on the lighter side, with some definite tannic presence. I'm wondering if it needs more time.

Definitely a mature wine with dark fruit and not a lot of nuance at this stage of its life.

Pretty stunning stuff.... Actually benefited from 5 minutes sitting in the glass to open up a bit. Went great with our pasta and sausage dinner.

Very pretty wine, amazing nose. Light and fresh but still complex enough to stay interesting.
