Does this need time in the bottle? Very little fruit, somewhat harsh tannins, but in the background, a wine that seemed to have the makings of an excellent bargain wine. At this point, let it breath.

Initially a bit of funk and quite a bit of green pepper both on the nose and the palate initially, which faded with a bit of time. Eventually some nice raspberry fruit with some earth and mushroom. Needs food. Very Good. thedrunkencyclist.com

(13%) 100% Cabernet Franc – Might just be lazy here and life the Wine Spectator review as it is nearly spot on for me -> “Bright and fresh, with good savory, olive and chalk notes weaving around the core of red and black cherry fruit. Offers a brambly feel on the finish. Not dense, but defined, showing excellent typicity.” The only things I would add is ‘mineral’ to the notes around the core. Well done for $13. I see more of this one in my future…

Still remarkably good. Bourgueils seem to be fun to drink young but some are wonderful to lay down. This cinnamon forward bottle is the latter.

Il devient mieux: framboise, cérise noire, un petit peu de prune, avec un leger goût végétal.

bright ruby red, in color. red fruit, spice, earth, oak, caramel, on the nose. medium acid, medium-high tannins, on this dry finish.

Earth funk minerals. Too young?

Fruit improved once decanted but a lot of funky earth flavors going on. Possibly too young or just not big enough for my new world palate.
