  • 10% alcohol, 115 g/l of residual sugar, about 5,5-6 g/l of acidity.

Intense, quite concentrated and still surprisingly youthful yellow-green color. Intense, youthful and very perfumed nose with musky, floral aromas of Muscat, fruity notes of tangerine and lychee, some rosewater tones, a little bit of orange marmalade, light notes of sweet grapey fruit and a hint of ripe pear. The wine is sweet, full-bodied and quite oily on the palate, but at the same time surprisingly fresh and precise with its high acidity. There are sweet flavors of ripe grapey fruit, tangerine, some exotic spices, light floral notes of roses, a little bit of lychee and a hint of blood orange. The high acidity lends good sense of balance and structure to the wine. The overall feel is surprisingly youthful for the age. The intense finish is sweet, enjoyably acid-driven and slightly sticky with flavors of lemon marmalade, blood orange, some grapey fruit, light notes of exotic spices, a little bit of honeyed richness, a hint of ripe tangerine and a developed touch of molten butter.

A very nice, balanced and enjoyably acid-driven effort. Not a particularly complex or that evolved - compared to the age of the wine - but nevertheless it feels as though the wine had gained a bit more nuance and sense of balance in the cellar. Overall the wine felt surprisingly backward - I guess due to the screwcap? Surprisingly nice stuff, good value at 12,98€ for a half bottle.

  • Orange colour, floral and orange on the nose, the palate is unctuous, orange flavours, a bit of spice on the finish. Simple and decent. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

  • White gold. Orange and flowers on the nose. The palate is lightly diluted orange squash, floral notes too but it just lacks the concentration and complexity you get from so many other sweet wines. Decent, but no more than that.

  • Close, but just doesn't have the concentration of flavour on the finish that you would expect. OK.

  • 10% alcohol, 115 g/l of residual sugar, about 5,5-6 g/l of acidity.

Pale golden yellow color with light green highlights. Very sweet and floral nose with aromas of perfumed rose notes, grapey Muscat notes, honeyed mead character, a little bit of pear and a hint of orange marmalade. The wine is sweet and full-bodied yet surprisingly elegant and delicate on the palate with less explosive character you'd expect. There are rich, layered flavors of ripe pears, perfumed floral notes, some tangerine-driven citrus fruits, a little bit of rose and a hint of spicy grit. The wine is surprisingly crisp and high in acidity. The finish is quite long and even a bit crisp with fresh, focused flavors of honey, overripe pear, some raisiny Muscat character and a hints of roses and other perfumed flowers.

Compared to the vintage 2010, which I had tasted a year earlier, this iteration was a lot higher in acidity - and here it is so obvious that such a small difference can mean a lot in the finished wine! Whereas the previous experience left me an idea of a flabby, cloying and more or less a mediocre sticky, this wine on the other hand was remarkably fresh, balanced and very enjoyable effort. granted, this was no Tokaj or Sauternes, but at only 12,99€ (for a 375 ml bottle) you don't expect it to be such. A terrific little wine that might even develop in a cellar. Nice.
