Exceptional! Will drink well for several more years. Dark amber color. Salted caramel, apricots jam and golden raisins with spice. Creamy on the palate with apricot jam and honey dew melon, dulce de leche with hints of salt, but also hints of kumquats and perhaps yellow raspberry. Concentrated, long finish.

Carmel, Single Vineyard, Sha'al, Late Harvest Gewurztraminer, 2009 (375 ml) Grown at elevation of 780 meters in the Sha'al Vineyard of the Galilee, Israel. Harvested in late October, 2009. This was a special treat opened to share with a special friend. In the glass, deep ember, clear. Considerable legs. On the nose, clean, pronounced aromas of preserved apricot, pear, and lychee. Golden raisin. Honey. On the palate, sweet, medium acidity, more on the back. Rich, full body, soft but juicy. Creamy. Pronounced flavors of dried fruits and honey. Long finish. Outstanding wine which can be drunk now but which shows continued potential to age. Originally priced at approximately $20. Non-mevushal. 11.5% ABV. 16% residual sugar.
