The ’11 Montrachet, available only in Ponsot’s Cru case, showed a beautifully vibrant and rich nose with floral perfumes up front leading to exotic spice, roasted nuts, expressive ripe stone fruits and minerals. On the palate, it was firm and youthful with notes of young peach and rich almond paste, yet remained compact with mounting energy, suggesting that the best is yet to come. Inner floral tones, roasted nuts, and notes of pastry dough lingered long on the finish. The potential in this glass is stunning!
