Drank over 3 days. 2 hours S/O didn't get anywhere. Medicinally sweet blue raspberry alcohol kool aid without any character or other definable flavors...after 3 ounce pour was thinking I might just pour it out. Recorked and cellared. Day 2 was about 25% better with dark fruits but still an unbalanced mess. 3rd day was best -maybe a 92...this was a big disappointment compared to the 95 point bottle. Maybe a bottle variation.

Believe this is at peak right now. Gave it about an hour of air with the last 30 minutes in the fridg to chill it slightly. Boy, this is good. No surprise as Greer is pretty consistent (looking forward to the Roy Piper Cabs that start including Greer in 2021). Starting to show its' age in the color but still very vibrant. Creamy (not syrupy) with piercing dark fruit flavors - blackberry, plum. After many days on the Winekeeper that last glass included very fine tannins which seemed to result in a burnt toast finish. Not a negative, just very intriguing. Should last for a few more years, but if I had more I'd drink them sooner than later.
90 minute Decant: full bodied, blackberry, black currant, plum, cedar, dark chocolate, anise. Lovely, light tannins, layered, 20-30 second finish. Will it improve? Don't think so, my taste buds preferred this 3-4 years ago. 95+

Intense black fruit, cherry, licorice, plum and hints of black tea. With some air, strawberry emerged on the nose. Very primary and concentrated. I wouldn’t call this a fruit bomb. At the same time, it’s hovering on that edge. After more air the finish became a little monilithic with too much black cherry and some heat. Very well made wine if not quite my cup of tea. 94 still young. I always (rightly ir wrongly) like comparing American wines to what I know from Bordeaux. To me, this comes across as a supercharged Cos D’Estournel or Montrose (think northern Medoc in a hot year).

Dense black currant, plum fruit. Ripe, full bodied. Intense licorice, graphite notes. Fine tannins on the finish. Very good now, will continue to improve over next couple of years.
This is a very classic and delicious Cabernet Sauvignon. Black currant, anise, dusty cedar, and violets. Has an intoxicating fragrance that rises from the glass. Still very youthful with loads of tannin remaining predicting many, many years of life ahead.

An hour plus in a decanter wasn't really enough to bring this out of it's shell, so it is tough to get a true assessment of this. In general, it is deep and extracted but manages to stay relatively light on it's feet and totally avoids being monolithic or overdone. The fruit skews more black with touches of red, big mineral and spice notes, med+ acidity keeps it lively. The tannins are still present but very fine.
This really just needs time in the cellar or a whole lot of air. Very successful version of "Big Napa".

This is a huge wine. Slow O for 8 hours prior to consumption and it still took another 3 hours to finally open up nicely. Of course it was the last glass at that time. Lots of dark fruit and gripping tannins. Classic Greer fruit and mineral wine. Fantastic!

Similar to previous bottles. Didn't need much air at all to get going and is in a great spot. A big wine for sure, but is very complex and has great energy.

Showed similarly to the bottle I had a few months ago. Needed half an hour or so of air, but opened up pretty quickly. Tannins have integrated and, for my tastes, this is in a good spot.

I like this wine. It is ripe, rich, robust and sexy, with a blast of jammy fruit, oak and earth on the nose. There is good concentration of raw materials as well. but the finish is a bit dry, which drops the score a few points for me. Still, it is really an outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon that is ready to drink today.

Third dinner of the L.A. wine trip (Bel-Air, California): Gave this several hours of air, which clearly benefited it. This vintage reminded me why this is one of my favorite Napa Cabs. There is so much pure fruit, with a core of blackberry and blueberry surrounded by barbecue smoke, dark chocolate, a hint of menthol, and licorice. Beautifully concentrated but no hint of over-extraction. Excellent balance, though this will improve once the tannins soften a bit. A long finish that completes a wonderful tasting experience.

The return of JonnyG: Herbs, blackberry, licorice, spice and pepper. Quite a big profile on the palate, with that green note carrying through and giving it an extra dimension. Has the structure to continue developing over the medium term. Great to try.

Savory nose of green and white pepper and currants. Lush and seamless, almost Old World in style. Dare I say a bit like a classic Mouton, with that savory green pepper component showing alongside the rich red fruit? Fully resolved tannins. Still evolving.

My first Greer experience and it did not disappoint. Decanted for over 2 hours, and then drank over the next 2 hours. Nose really opened up after the first hour of decant. Started with fresh dark berries then developed aromas of stewed plums, bell pepper, eucalyptus, and baking spices. Truly one of the most complex noses on a Cab I have ever tasted. Medium legs. Dark inky purple color. Really started coming together after 4 hours of breathing time, and you can really taste the potential for even more improvement in 5-6 years. I plan to lay my other bottle down until 2020, but this was a pure joy to experience.

An OMG what is this?! nose, one immediately has no doubts they are in for something special; this wine evolved immensely over the course of three hours; very unique flavor profile that really stands apart from other Napa cabs; wet leaves, sour cherries, vanilla, cinnamon, tobacco, coffee, and mint were all flavors that we noted at one point or another; finish was well over a minute long with fine, dusty tannins, but no doubts this wine will likely be even better in 5+ years, which is when we intend to consume my sole last bottle of this vintage.

Nose of underbrush and wet leaves with dark berries. The palate also presents some wet leaves and a lot of dark fruit with some oak. The tannins are present but adequate. With a hunk of rare steak this wine is amazing.

Incense and blueberries on the nose. Unlike other vintages this seemed to remain fairly unchanged for the first 6-8 hours of slow ox and also showed the best during this time period. Palate is black cherry and dark chocolate. Also a savory profile that really rounds this out. Menthol and a hint of smoke and charred dill. Round and mouthfilling. Full mid palate and very long finish. Wish I had a bunch more.

Herbal, smoky and tannic. Menthol prominent. Muted fruit on nose and palate. Fruit not at center here - the herbal and menthol notes dominate. Very solid Napa characteristic. Solidly made, with old world type structure and palate.

Opened and decanted for about 2 hours then consumed over another hour. The wine was inline with my other Greer experiences which have always been delightful. Incredibly well structured, absolutely delicious, and a gorgeous nose. These wines are something special, and should be sourced out for pure hedonistic pleasure. To me, there are few better Cabernets' being produced today.

Another wonderful Greer experience. Decanted for four hours, but it was still a bit muted on the nose for the next hour. Dar and brooding, rich mocha and black fruit notes, and a depth that is just hard to describe. A wine that you could just curl up with for the night.

My first Greer...gave it about four hours of slow O before recorking to take to the restaurant...another hour in the decanter at the restaurant. Nose is an abundance of richness...black cherries...so silky smooth and lush...everyone loved it. The only negative I detected is that about an hour later I started to get some herbal notes in the final sips.

Absolutely beautiful wine. This wine is showing lots of black cherry and red fruit with a hint of smoke, tobacco, and leather. On the palate there is a very nice minerality. The finish is silky smooth and wonderfully balanced. Delicious wine.

The the 2010 Greer Cabernet Sauvignon offers up a beautiful melange of wild berries, red and black cherries, subtle loamy soil and hints of espresso or mocha. On the beautifully detailed palate the fruit impression is cool, almost mineral, with fresh, layered flavors and elegant, silky tannins. The finish already displays seamless integration and terrific length. This is clearly a special vineyard site, but the winemaking should also be extolled for the finesse and balance that have been coaxed out of these grapes. A first class Cabernet Sauvignon.

Very pure dark berries, ash, smoke, fresh leather, graphite soar from the glass in a very clearly delineated bouquet. The palate is very mineral, and has bags of layered fruit that unfolds seamlessly. The finish is persistent, very intense, and combines fruit and minerality beautifully. There is a lot of freshness here, and such beautiful dark fruit to it that it draws you back to the glass for more and more.
