Granted this was tasted immediately after one of the most overwhelming wines of the evening, but still for the age of this wine it was a little simple. The wine certainly boasts some characteristics of a multi-decade champagne including beautifully integrated acids, with a round flavor profile. Would rate much better, but there is a bit of bitterness at the end of a sip (sommelier at the event described it as 'off').
