Wow! Red rock! Incredibly balanced and still brings the heat after 20 years. Black and red fruit with superb balance, a little green olive and a fantastic finish. Showing some age, but our group guessed 2007-2009.

An unbelievably good wine. 100 pts though it tied with the Schrader. Massive dark fruit on the nose with some subtle herbs and minerals. Perfectly integrated, velvety tannin to compliment the cassis and even a little brighter fruit like strawberry. The finish is amazing lasting over a minute with the oaky notes slowly fading with the fruit. Plenty of acidity that coats the whole palate. Truly a mouthful that you want to try and chew. Amazing wine. I’d love to have another bottle (or 10) but it’s so hard to find. Highly recommended.

Football and wines (and lamb) @ Jenkin's (Wilton, CT): A monumental wine, but still an infant; loads of upside potential here. This is a dense, dark, deep wine with so much intensity and length. Almost a wine to chew rather than drink, but this does not come across as ponderous or heavy, as this possesses a beautifully lifted finish. Astonishing wine to try in 20-30 years.

Drank at the restaurant blue in grand cayman. Started with Salon 2002. The Thorevilos lived up to its rating. Wonderful nose of dark fruit with a hint of spice. Full bodied taste to complement the nose. Tannins round and long.

California Cabernet Sauvignon at its best. That sums this bottle up. If you're seeking perfectly ripe fruit with so much intensity of flavor you can eat it, silky, velvety textures and a finish that lingers long after the wine has been finished, this is for you.
Incredibly dense and primary with strong flavors of red and blue fruit and a slight wet stone quality. Nice spice. Rich and full in the mouth, although the alcohol could be felt. A massive wine that is excellent but a little heavy handed for my taste.

Opened a 2002 Hundred Acres Kayli Morgan and a 2002 Abreu Thorevilos, decanted both for 4 hours. The 2002 Abreu Thorevilos was the star of the evening. What a finish!! 90+ seconds! The wine is structurally deep, well balanced, and complex. The Cab definitely comes through after the wine opens up with hints of berry. How can you not like a wine that continues to reveal layers of taste upon taste like a never ending Christmas present that keeps on revealing something new? The 2002 Thorevilos is a big wine with a huge finish. It's very easy to sip a glass for 1.5 hours, the wine is that big.

There is so much depth in color in this wine, it looks like it was just released! Blueberry, boysenberry jam, vanilla, licorice, chocolate, truffle, earth and smoke scream from the glass. With the concentration of motor oil, coupled with the grace of a ballerina, there is not one hair out of place. Ostentatious, yet refined, the wine fills your mouth and paints your palate with the intense purity of perfectly ripe, polished fruit. This is a benchmark wine for California Cabernet Sauvignon.

There were some rought notes on this about a year to 6 months ago. Opened this to celebrate moving to a new house and thought it was open for business. Big powerful and intense, reminded me of a Harlan. No details, too busy enjoying, but wanted to post a good data point for the wine.

Aromatically - (Poped and poured) It had aromas of stewed vegetables and stable hay. Not what I was expecting. On the palate a bit of hollowness on the midpallate and a slightly bitter finish. Not up to the hype. 89pts

Deep black ruby. Quite closed yet with a dusty, mineral driven nose with black berries. This is still young with powerful tannins that are intense and showing. It definitely needs time.

Not sure what happned here with a supposedly great wine. Found it to be lacking intensity, complexity, & aromas. Basically, it was flat and short after an hour sitting in a decanter.

Drank at Craft in NYC - the sommelier warned me that this wine needed more time and it was just too massive right now. I'll admit to falling spell to RP 100 score. Absolutely massive wine with way too much oak showing right now.

Needed 3 hours in decanter and became everything you hoped it would be. Had with steak but would go with whatever you want to pair it with.
