Simple but fresh and balanced right when the cork came out. After 2 hours the nose has blossomed into some nice Puligny minerals. Getting rather interesting as it sits in the glass. Nice zippy balance. As good as many village and some 1er PM's I've had. Better than I expected which was pretty high already in light of the producer which I love.

Yes, a Villages Bourgogne can use more time as this is declassified P-M fruit and the vintage needs time. Good but will get better with another 2+ years age.

Nicely hued greenish gold tint. Meduim bodied but lacking on nose and palate. Reminded me more of an austere Chablis rather than a village burgundy. Green pear and apple flavors with a hint of vanilla. I like Paul Pernot generally but this was a pedestrian effort.

This entry-level Pernot offering shows well above its pedigree. Straw-colored and brimming with lemon zest, white peach, wet stone and floral aromas, it follows with a light-to-medium-bodied, crisply acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (13%) palate with flavors mirroring the nose. The wine is beautifully layered in the middle and (perhaps most impressive) is fresh and long on the finish. This is certainly one of the best quality-to-price ratio wines that an oenophile can procure. Enjoy it over the next 3-4 years. Drink now-2018.

EYE: pale straw w/hints of white gold->watery rim, L conc, star bright, L visc NOSE: M intensity, chalky minerality! white flowers & white stone fruit, w/hints of citrus, orange melon, vanillin PALATE: tart stone fruit & citrus w/bright acidity yet smooth mouth-feel mid-palate fades to melon, vanillin/oak notes on finish. M+ acid, M alc (13% ABV, feels hotter), M+ finish, M+ complexity OVERALL: what a great pure white burgundy for the price - delicate on the nose yet power on the palate and strong finish reflective of Puligny

La Paulée Burgundy Week Tasting at K&L Wine Merchants (K&L Wine Merchants(Redwood City, CA)): Aromas of apple, guava, citrus and a kiss of melon. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with vibrant acidity, and a great mouth feel. It shows apple, lime, melon, mineral and a bit of spiced lemon flavors. Long finish. Declassified Puligny Montrachet from younger vines. Definitely over-delivers at $22.

A very consistent Bourgogne year after year, but I think this is Pernot's best yet. Fantastic density and concentration for this level. Ripe peach with some lime peel and a touch of lemon. Somewhat tropical. Vibrant and full of energy on the palate. Well balanced with good structure and acidity. I picked up a case of this and look forward to watching this evolve over the next few years.

Drinking nicely. Needs some air to open up. Good as expected from this producer but not exceptional. Still has time to develop further.
