  • While definitely showing signs of oxidation through ageging this is not pre-moxed. shows the classic Sauzet richness, with the flintiness of Puligny. Nice but past its best.

  • Very mature nose, sweet fruits, some fudge, reminds a bit of an old champagne. Taste is medium bodied, perhaps lacking some acidity, but the taste is ok as well as length. I suppose a classic, a bit over-the-hill burgundy, good but not great.

  • We opened this with great anticipation, and we all were disappointed. Very little on the nose (and citrusy at that), thin on the palate, and a bit too acidic for a wine with this much time in the bottle. If it was a $20 bottle we would have been fine, but at $50 we had reason to expect more. Wine Spectator gave it a 92, but that was back in 1997. Likely that the wine is over the hill.
